6th week in a row my Ord-LGA flight is delayed 😑
1500 points shy of Southwest A-List preferred. Any tips on how to get those without going on a flight?
Thinking about buying a house/condo. Single here. I have about $70K in savings and stocks combined. $110K in 401K, no outstanding loans and credit card balances. I am comfortable paying up to $1800/month for mortgage. Looking for suggestions on my readiness to become a home owner.
How much total comp raise would you need to go to another big 4, equally reputable in the space. They claim that they will reduce your travel from 80% to 25%, which is a big plus for me.
Looking to buy 120k Delta SkyMiles for 1.1cpm ($1320) to help à family friend buy tickets to Cali. Anyone à seller at that price? Checking here before I go on social media.
New to United States - I noticed that my pay checks comprise approx. 64 % of my annual compensation( after 6% 401K and health insurance) . Is that normal or have I messed up something in tax forms?
I’m sooo sick of Marriott from the Bonvoy situation. Anybody have luck transferring to Hilton or Hyatt, getting status match?
Thinking outside the box: need H1B renewal stamping, eligible for Dropbox in my home country. However, going there is still risky in case of a 221g and consulates closed. Can I send my passport to my home country through a friend for Dropbox stamping? Once the stamping is done, I can travel to home country (after they courier my passport back) Is this possible or am I going crazy?
Please DM me if you are looking on selling Marriott points. I am short on points for a vacation
Afraid of my chase account being closed. If you were to transfer UR Points and had no option otherwise, what/where would you transfer your points? Approx 200,000 UR points, not the most but don't wanna lose them haha
Friday motivation: just booked three summer trips on points and miles for me and my hubby, including business class flight to London. Bright side of waking up at 4:30am on Mondays 😊
Just got invited to United Global Services. Super excited and kind of depressed at the same time.
I have a salary range in mind for a new role based on online research and target increase from my comp now. But my research shows the data points are for salaries in HCOL areas. Do I need to adjust what I ask for if it’s a remote role and I’m not in HCOL city? Don’t want to overshoot and lose a great opportunity.
Anyone fly Delta with ORD as their home base? I realize I may need to take connections but is this worth it? Lost EP last year, status matched to Platinum with Delta if having status matters
Have one week for shopping mortgage for first house. Where do i start, any online sites , credit unions or mortgage agencies that are offering low rate loans. First time home buyer so no clue what to look for. Any tips to work with PMI, points , loan terms.
Just used points to book first class tickets to Hawaii for my boo and I next month! Feels so good to finally fly somewhere I want to go without paying for it!
I romanticized being a consultant while working in industry. Then I got a consulting job, a couple promos, and now the idea of consulting just makes me roll my eyes. I love the pay and I don’t mind working hard, w/ long hours, but the “business of consulting” is exhausting (e.g. maintaining utilization, selling engagements, 6k iterations of a deck, etc). Great company, great co-workers, and interesting engagements.... I can’t be the only one feeling this way. Time to exit or is this a phase?
Would you get fired if you edit your department partners’ picture and send it to your colleague?
Is change management a skill set used by industry? I want to position myself to have options in a few years, but I just don't see that as being an FTE function.
Just got an offer to work someplace else. Pay, PTO, medical and 401k seem good. What else could I try to negotiate?
I hate that all of the conference rooms in our office aren’t fully soundproof. Makes trying to take recruiter calls / video interview later etc. very hard lol
The number of apps/utility tools we’re using is ridiculous. I probably spend an hour of my day just reading Basecamp 2, Basecamp 3, Wrike, Microsoft Teams, and slack notifications
I graduated in May 2020 and found myself excepting a Junior Art Director position in Healthcare. I never saw myself in health but with many agencies having hiring freezes I decided to get some experience and save up some money in the meantime. Fast forward one year; I’ve added a new campaign to my website and I’m starting to apply to consumer agencies again. Any tips to help me make the transition? Any place to avoid? Who have you noticed is hiring again? Thanks in advance :)
Tie or no tie for video interview?
Pence: why couldn't you lose the election gracefully? You just had to take out LGA to send a message.
Hey guys! Has anyone made the pivot from Merchandising to Project Management? I’d love to chat as it is something I am looking to do. Thanks! :)
Does anyone know what health benefits (gym membership, reimbursements, etc) does PwC in Atlanta offer?
Anyone from or live in San Diego? Great beer selections everywhere but where do you buy bourbon?!
Should I stop depositing into my 401k?
Currently with ACN in SEA, but looking to move to Australia in a year for better WLB. Anyone who's done this through Accenture or other firms? Any recommendations on how to approach this - PR/Visa, direct applications for jobs there etc.?
I hate the city I live in but I love my agency. Since we’ve been wfh for months (and it looks like the rest of the year) I want to ask if I can continue to work remote so I can move somewhere I’m happy. Thoughts on how to approach management?
Can someone explain how the MRNA vaccine is supposed to be a silver bullet despite increasing evidence that naturally produced antibodies from COVID-19 do not confer lasting protection? I know that it is made using a different method than the old “dead virus particles” method - is this method theoretically able to confer immunity to any pathogen?
I am almost 2 years into my H1B. They haven’t started my I140 but when I joined told me that I would be eligible in a year of which I am coming up on in this Oct. I got a new offer today but they told me that they would apply I140 after a year from when I join. The pros of the new one is TC more than 18k with sign-on of 15k (not sure clauses for this) and better wrk-life bal). My question is, how long into H1B is it advisable to have an I140 applied for. Would 3-4 years into my H1B be too late?
