I at least read every subject line, but the mark all as unread option is a beautiful thing. Especially when you have rules set up so that specific emails go to a specific folder.

Just took this.
How many of these are spam/newsletters though? Honestly having folders or rules is the only thing keeping me from an inbox like this sometimes
Zero. If you’re asking how many “follow up” flags I have, however......

For years, I was a zero inbox guy. Now, unread stands at 5,921.
Howwwwwwwww!? Lol howwww? Let me tackle those for you because I’m triggered now!

19085. I wonder how many are from associates who are still waiting for a response. 🤔

100% certain that many are. I get so many that there’s literally no way to keep up. I tried for years. Finally gave up. People who want to communicate with me know to call me.

Apparently the answer is 0 or 10,000. There is nothing in between.
I mean I like zero too, but I’m at 48 🤷♂️
Last I checked it was over 45,000
0 we are in a customer service business. Not answering emails is tantamount to telling your clients you do not care about them and their cases. That’s a great way to avoid getting repeat business
Who said anything about them being client e-mails?

Omg some of these would scare me. At the start of the day I had 300 emails in my inbox and was stressed - read but action needed taken. I’m down to 20 and headed to bed. All messages have been read. At my firm, some of you all would be in major trouble!
At the moment, 17. I try for 0 at the end of the day, but have varying success.
0 - unread emails trigger anxiety. If I want a break from checking my inbox, I put my phone on airplane mode and cut off from anyone and everyone. I did that for two days after giving birth. On day 3, the phone was on, and I was checking work emails and responding to covering colleagues (and did so throughout maternity leave).🤦🏽♀️
I think there’s a disconnect between the people saying 0 and the people saying thousands- I personally currently have 163. It I’ve been a 0 person and a 1000 person in the past, and the difference between those isn’t leaving important emails unread, it’s opening and deleting junk mail.
My “unread” are all firmwide emails that I can tell from the subject line don’t apply to me. But I may need to refer to them later, so I don’t want to delete them. And I’m too lazy to go through and move them all to an archive or folder, so here we are. I sincerely hope no one is leaving substantive matter-related emails unread for more than an hour or two ever!
I leave substantive emails unread for more than an hour all the time. I’m in court, in meetings, out of the office doing things, on the phone, etc. Don’t send email for anything truly important that requires a response or that is time sensitive. Pick up the phone or go see someone. Email is not the equivalent of either and not everyone lives in their inbox.
I once heard a story of a law firm partner who, when his unread # got too high would just delete everything, then email the usual suspects saying something to the effect of: “having some technical difficulties and lost all of my emails, if you are waiting for a response from me, please re-send.”
I imagine you can only use that a few times before you become the one they tell that story about.
0. Everything has to be sorted in sub-folders, too.
