Shoot for 20. If you spread things out and give enough heads up you should be fine. Totally disagree with CD2. If you’re coworkers aren’t bold enough to take their time, sucks for them. You still earned yours!
Here’s a fun fact: A study made, determined that the perfect amount of yearly time off to feel recharged and well-rested, was 3 separate vacations of 8 days off. The study showed that longer vacations didn’t improve the wellness feel. So, the trick is to take 3 vacations of 8 days each.
That’s about 5 PTO plus two weekends each. The remaining PTO can be used to join/extend holiday bridges :)
10? I would say 15, minimum. More like 20-25 at many places.
Don’t let the American ways define you. For your title, you should be at the 10-15 PTO range. But if you believe you can extend it to 16-20... by all means, enjoy your life. The whole frowning upon vacation stigma in America has turned into a problem. Eventually, everyone begs for mercy and work-life balance. So, enjoy your perks!
Take an awesome two week trip if you can afford it and then tack on some long weekends and such elsewhere in the year
This is what I do!

It’s less about the number of days and more about how you space them out, paired with your work ethic. If you’re uncomfortable taking two or three weeks back to back, pair solo days with weekends or single day national holidays throughout the year. Or add a week to the longer ones such as Christmas/New Year break. If it’s for a trip (or mental break) two weeks back to back is fine, and if it’s international then 3 weeks back to back is just as okay. Just make sure you’re putting in the hours year round, and get noticed for your hard work. Not sure what the fuss is with unlimited PTO. I’ve never had issues with it and absolutely love it.
Haven't worked at a place where PTO is unlimited but I've always had at least 20 PTO days. I say aim for 20-25. Time off is important to recharge and balance out the craziness of work. That said, unlimited PTO is BS because you can't get paid out for "unused" days when you leave.
Based on your job title, 10. Any more, and ur essentially stealing PTO from ur less bold coworkers. Any less, and ur letting ur employer steal from u.
What
Honest answer. 15. No more. That includes sick and personal days.
Disagree HIGHLY. Especially including sick and personal days. No way. 20-25 is average, don’t short yourself.

In a row
Lol 😢
Also, where do you work?
Add many as they will let you take, unlimited isn't unlimited
20-30 seems fair. I did around 22 last year.
Live your life and take what you need. Don’t leave your team hanging If you’re taking too much, they’ll stop approving it.

Unlimited PTO is a nice, leisurely trip to Perdition.
Thank you everyone!!
