Hi all. I am trying to determine if I am being compensated fairly. I am a tax manager (about to start my second year as manager) and have been with EY since staff 1. I was promoted to manager in June 2020 (during covid) and received a 7.5% raise. The class above me has mentioned they received much higher raises during their promotion years. My base salary is now approx. 97K. Any insights would be extremely helpful. Thanks!

Well even if you’re really really good at what you do, someone who’s worked double the time will be more experienced by having those years of work under their belt. A SR AD with 8 years undoubtedly has concepted, designed, created more as well as dealt w/more feedback (problem solving) in a job capacity vs someone w/4 years of work experience.
I'd throw this in the ask a recruiter bowl

It's not about the time put in, it's about the thinking and the quality. Consider the company as a brand and understand the business and most importantly, have a point of view and a vision where you want the company to go. Be a leader among your peers and you'll find yourself moving up faster than others.
There is also a hard limit though. You're not qualified after 2-3 years
