Zero. PA isn’t the end all be all. Don’t let people convince you it is.
Just for context: spent my first two years in industry, then 4 years in public, now back in industry.
.... like everything else in the profession. It depends. I'd say a year after a promotion (senior, mgr, sen mgr, director, partner). As long as you're moving upward or doing what you love.
Depends on what you mean by worth it - $, title, switching to industry job... Specifics will be helpful.

Just in general and I guess all the above. The way I look at it is that PA is rough and isn’t only “worth it” when you make partner and maybe director. All the other levels are long hours and up to $150k. If that’s the case then no wonder people don’t want to go into PA. The newer generation only look maybe 1-2 years ahead and PA doesn’t really reward that much after 1-2 years.
Forever/never if you let yourself get talked into some specialty or SALT.
