Looking to transition into an HR leadership position. 17+ years experience in running a startup managing 50-100 people (15 years) and handled all facets of hiring, firing, compensation, negotiation, training and employee relations. Responsibilities also include other non HR functions such as business dev., client relations and expansion, logistics. Currently studying for the SPHR and plan to take the GPHR as well. Thoughts on difficulty of moving into an HR leadership role?

This month I have come to facing that reality that I need to leave my current company due to lack of growth within my career path staying in sales and business development. Primarily no opportunity to not relocate to work remote. Not interested in switching to marketing or enablement there. Interested in advisory, technology consulting, project management or remaining in business development in Chicago. Anyone open to sharing where you are/what you do for a referral and advice?

Is it worth leaving the D for MBB -asking since all are hiring right now? A lot of people that made the switch say it’s miserable

I confronted my EPAM HR about these firings, revoking of offer letters etc. He says it's happening for Java and DevOps only due to over-hiring.

What jobs to people look at when going to industry after working in Risk Advisory? I have my CPA but I honestly don’t really feel like I know much about accounting (studied for the test, not to retain the info) and wouldn’t really want to continue doing Risk Advisory considering I’m leaving the role. I'm a stub year who recently totalled my vehicle and only had liability insurance. Managing partner says they understand if I have to work remotely until I can save up, but I'm terrified by the recent layoffs and was told it's important for jrs to maximize face time.
