How many yoe is typical to reach VP level these days? I always thought it was 2 years analyst -> 2-3 years associate -> VP for the TOP performers. Seeing people online I know with 3 yoe getting vp or 2 yoe getting AVP.

Macquarie seems to be a slower pace in general and has an additional “manager” level before “sr manager” (our VP equivalent). Love working here and have been successful so far but if career progression is much quicker elsewhere I might think about a change…

I gave google silicon interview all 4 rounds 3+ months back, from then they are saying they want to hire me but headcount approval is not yet received.
Last week they said, lets go for one more round and finalize immediately. That interview also went very good.
Post that they didn't call back itself, they have stopped responding also.

Has anybody faced this issue? This I feel completely unprofessional and not really expected from Google.

I got offered a job as an internal wholesaler at Lord Abbett and market support analyst at Blackrock. Blackrock pays more but it’s an assistant role. Lord Abbett says I can move to external wholesaler but it’s a smaller co and less upward mobility if I don’t get that role. Any reason I should take one over the other?

I'm aware that the CAIA is not as popular in Asia compared to the CFA. From my knowledge, there are no CAIA holders in my current firm within the Asian region, despite dealing with alternative investments.

Working as a summer analyst in private wealth management this summer and just got a return offer at GS. Anyone have any experience with salaries, exit ops, etc. pressured between taking the return and looking for something with more optionality.

So, I am a high performer and had to cover for two very senior roles for many months due to quick high turnover. We already had our talks. I found it funny when I was told, “oh and by the way… as you can see we increased your bonus to thank you for covering for so and so.” $500 increase………. Am I silly to think this “thank you” increase is a joke? No salary increase and only $500 thank you for covering for two additional jobs. Am I unreasonable to think the work I covered for wasn’t appreciated?
