I make close to 5K a month. I spend roughly $850 on rent (I share a 2 bedroom with my boyfriend).
I’m pretty happy with my rent to income ratio but I’m still trying to keep my expenses down so I can save up for more vacations.
I found one thing that really helped was finding cheaper activities to do with friends like biking, thrifting or staying in and cooking something.
I take home 5k a month
My take home is a little over $4k a month. I moved back in with my parents at the beginning of the pandemic and am basically not interested in moving back out atm. I just can't justify paying nearly half my income to rent... Just to keep working at home. Idk how anyone does it. I pay $600 a month to my parents to help with costs around the house.
I have no tips... I'm aware I'm coming from a place of privilege. But if you're not saving at your current income level and you're running out of where you can cut back... The only option is to try to find higher income.
Honestly, this is very much a personal preference. I live at home, quiet burbs, and just drive out on the weekends if I have plans. I'm putting away a pretty large % of my income every month so I can retire early lol. I don't wanna stick around in agency.
used to live in Toronto and now live in NYC so mostly just here to keep in touch with the community but paying $1900 for my half of the rent with my partner and earn about 100K
i earned like 35K in toronto as a freelance social media manager and then went to ad school in the Us and moved to the us, only ever worked agency jobs here, can’t really speak to the difference from ad jobs
Take home ranges from $8000-$10000 (after putting $$$ away for taxes) as a freelancer. Monthly payment for mortgage & maintenance cost is about $3000.
I can’t afford to move out from my parents anytime soon 😭😭
Take home is $5900 a month and pay $1910 in rent

Around 150k, monthly mortgage payment is $2335 (I pay half of that).
My income is around 2.6k a month after all the tax deductions. My rent is $900. Its a very tough ratio to survive in
Yup life of a junior: work more, earn less😭😭
My main piece of savings advice is figure out what you can reasonably save each month. It doesn’t have to be a lot, something is better than nothing. Make that an automatic withdrawal every paycheque or month so that you “pay yourself” and aren’t tempted to spend that money.
$100k pre-tax and my monthly mortgage + associated fees total $2300 (split with partner).
With my partner we earn about $350,000 total. Our mortgage and property tax comes to about $2700.
