Don’t have the exact number, but I heard FTI pays breed than EY for sure in the Chicago area, I’d at least attempt 25-30% more than what you are currently making.

Depends on practice and YOE, but probably 100-110. Feel free to DM for a referral

DM me if interested in AlixPartners.

Consider Ankura if possible. I'm leaving FTI in 2 weeks for Ankura for 40% more than I'm currently making at FTI!

Have any of you told your family how much money you make? My family has never asked but I feel like my partner’s family is always trying to figure it out and it makes me uncomfortable. They assume that I make a lot because I’m an attorney. I often get comments like “well you can afford it because you’re a lawyer.” I do well for myself but I am far from rich. I am so grateful to have a job but I’d rather not disclose my salary to anyone other than the IRS.

I have been approached with an opportunity at JP Morgan Chase for their private client advisor role. The book is about 30M all in. I am currently an experienced hybrid asset manager wholesaler and have experience in advising as well. Curious about the opportunity with JPM and if it’s worth it. I currently make about 160k and if JPM would give me a high draw for the first 3 years to build, and if it’s feasible to sustain that 160+ there.

I'm at a career juncture and have decided on a career in anti-money laundering as my new path. I'm also highly interested in additional education to further my career and am eyeing graduate school. Which is best? A law degree or a master's in international relations? Those are where my interests lie. I keep reading that JDs are valued in compliance but am wondering if a different graduate program is better for my goals. I already plan to obtain the CAMS certification. Thank you!

I was wondering if the review course “CPE Self Study Course” for the CFF was enough preparation to study and pass the CFF exam. The CFE review course was enough and like if you get a question wrong it explains it well so that when it comes up in a different way in the real exam you can still get it. But when I saw the outline for the CFF material and there seems to be a lot of topics so I was wondering if the review course was sufficient considering this exam is also multiple choice. Thanks!

For those who have obtained the CFF certification:
I was asked to put together a working plan to obtain my CFF credential. I’m aware of the 2 certificate program (Core and Specialized) through the AICPA that will lead to the CFF. Does anyone have experience in how long it would take to complete the certificates and if there are other necessary or helpful study materials that would be useful? For background, I’m 6 months into working at this firm and have touched a variety of cases.

Hello everyone! What certifications do you think would be useful to a person who is a newcomer in the fraud and forensic industry. I want to boost my skill set and profile. Currently working as a due diligence, risk and compliance researcher at Kroll. I feel the research role is quite redundant without growth opportunities. Want to move into financial crime compliance. Will the CFE or CAMS be a good investment towards achieving this goal? My background is in law. Please advise.

Is it realistic to want to do forensic accounting only to support criminal investigations? I'm passionate about the criminal side of things- investigating fraud, anti-money laundering, embezzlement, asset misappropriation, FCPA, etc. Is there enough work supporting this to justify a move into forensics or is this type of work only a small slice of forensic accounting?

If anyone wants to be a Forensic Accountant for federal Law Enforcement in DC (not remote) PM me for a referral - Deloitte is actively hiring for this position. You’ll be working active money laundering cases alongside federal LE agents. CPA strongly preferred, some audit experience a plus too. CFE, CAMS, or other related certs also a bonus.
