Hi Fishes

I am earning decently here in India and have an offer for 30k in Abu Dhabi ( I got it through Linkdin😎).
Though all my formalities are done and i am set to go, i am having second thoughts about this move regarding how my life will be in a conservative country and will I be able to find people with a similar mindset. Has someone in the group faced something like this before an abroad move ?
Will really appreciate it if sm1 residing in UAE can let me know how life is like there.

I have got verbal offer from Credit Suisse. I really like the team book of work that I will be joining. Compensation offered is also what I had asked for. Only thing that I found a bit weird is that the HR mentioned that there will be no salary revision next year for me. It was mentioned that anyone joining in 2022 is not applicable for salary revision next year. What are your views on this ?

I believe if I am joining in first half of year, there should be revision based on performance.

I am seriously considering attending law school and opening my own firm. Is it an absurd aspiration to net at least $90k/year within the first few years in a small firm? I am a senior immigration paralegal fluent in multiple languages and frequently feel limited by my lack of JD. I currently only know attorneys in nonprofits, big law, and higher ed, so I don’t know what is realistic. I am open to learning other areas of law. I could settle down in MN, NY, FL, CO, or Southern California.

So I've been working at my company for 8 months now as a business analyst. Both senior consultants on my project are leaving, with no replacements in sight, so the project work is most likely going to fall to me. I am already doing most of the work of a full fledged consultant as defined by the companies description. I'm only getting paid 55k a year which I'm being told by other employees is below industry standard (they take around 70% of my billable rate) and I'm feeling kind of stuck. Advise?
