Have anyone done contracting negotiations before? I've interviewed for co A & B and co A extended an offer today. The offer does not meet my current salary. Co B's interview structure is 3 rounds and I've finished my 2nd round today. The recruiter mentioned that since I am a contractor my current salary is incomparable as they will provide benefits, etc. Is this true? I have 2 yrs of contracting HR exp from fortunate 500 co’s & OMW to get my SHRM-CP. Appreciate your advice in advance.
Anyone have EY raise % or bonus bands /estimates for seniors or managers at a 4 or 5 rating in PI? Know formal comp calls won't happen for another few weeks...
Dumb question but humor me, I’m not familiar with financial services - is working in advisory at the big 4 as coveted/prestigious out of college as working as a financial analyst at a big IB like Morgan Stanley? Peoples backgrounds and salary seem extremely similar.
Currently an M2 in consulting with 8YOE (no MBA). If I am looking to interview for a role at Amazon for a Senior Program Manager, would that be an L6 or L7 role? Trying to gauge the total comp I should be stating to the recruiter.
Anyone working for a small consulting firm that can share their experience? i.e workload, responsibilities, industries, comp, etc
BCG Project Leaders...what's your base salary?
Going up for C, any tips on salary / Total Comp negotiations? From what I’ve seen, obtaining an offer from a competitor gives me the best leverage.
I work full time in a (foreign) country where employees are protected pretty well. Our agency lost clients and they need to lay people off. I’m on that list too. They are convincing us to accept a voluntary resignation with 5 months of salary. I can refuse (law will protect me) and stay on but I have barely any billable work to do and of course this will create some toxic relationships with management. (CONT)
Is it wise to leave PwC for wipro ( there is salary difference of 7 lakhs on fixed ctc)?
Moving from salary bowl bc I didn’t get many responses there - What is the starting salary of a Deloitte GPS analyst in Nova/DC & should starting salary and benefits be negotiated? Asking for a graduating senior! Thanks!!

Hi All, I have been selected as SMTS at salesforce. For salary negotiation, they have asked my expectations. what number / range I should look at. Thanks in advance
I’m working on an oncology Rx launch. US is projected to account for 80% of sales and US patients are paying almost 3x-5x the European price! Ugh, the rest of the world gets all the benefits of innovation and US citizens get shafted with the cost. Just wanted to vent.
Banks have been expanding parental leave policies with some offering the same amount of time to both primary and secondary parents. Do you think your company provides sufficient time off? Most importantly, would you be willing to take the full amount of time - without fearing repercussions?
Anyone here on a 80% flex schedule? If so, is it truly flex esp during busy season? Expecting 1st baby and considering whether I should do that. I’ve heard you end up working just as much for less pay

At the other big 4 firms - what are the details of the maternity leave benefit? How long does someone have to be employed before qualifying? How long is the leave before labor & how long is the leave after? Thanks!
Can someone explain the logic behind firms requiring masks only for unvaccinated employees? Transmission is the same whether you are vaccinated or unvaccinated, especially for the delta variant. The CDC’s website says that vaccinated individuals could “potentially” have lower transmission rates, but there’s no actual data to support this statement. It seems like a way for firms to encourage (instead of mandating) the vaccine but it ends up being a discriminatory practice. Thoughts?
we are a (burned out) married couple and our kid is in daycare until 6. what do you suggest that we do on a friday afternoon that is romantic and fun ?
How do you connect with/get to know people from different service lines at your office? For example, if you’re in Tax, do you get much interaction with Advisory folks? Or is it kind of a silo?
Is the SM role like a junior partner at B4?
Moms from NY: how many weeks post partum were you on short term disability? I recently had a call with the leave team at my firm and was surprised to hear that typically STD after birth is 6-8 weeks, depending on the type of birth. My question is: anyone here returned to work before 6 weeks? Asking because I want to recuperate for 2 weeks after birth, then go back to work and use the remaining maternity weeks later in a year. I wonder if this will be allowed. The Leave team person made it soun
Hi Ladies! Those of you who have a Dependent Care FSA account - how are you planning to use the amount you have already contributed? My child is going to start kindergarten this year, was planning to use the FSA account to pay for his preschool until the school started. With the pandemic going on, that money is sitting unused. I would not want to lose that money, appreciate your ideas! Thank you.
I’ve been out of work for a significant amount of time due to Covid decimating my industry. Lots of interviews and a few final rounds. Today I finally got an offer. Pay is the best yet and team seems great. I just can’t help but feel a little disappointed bc it’s not the industry I was in/am passionate about/reason I went to law school. Is one bird in hand really better than two in the bush? Anyone have a similar situation? I’m worried about regret & giving up on my dreams.
My dad passed away 10 years ago.He was a “good”dad while alive (not the best husband). I spent lot of my youth/adult life fixing his mistakes after he died, which weren’t mine to fix. While I have tried to forgive him for myself, the relationship with his memory is complicated. Our family friends (husband and wife) who really were there for us in every sense after his death came to visit. That “uncle” is the closest thing to a father that I have. Today, I really wished he had been my father.
Going home to my lil baby daughter!! 😊❤
Hey team - would appreciate your feedback I'm currently a SC at Guidehouse making ~$100k. Very bored but considered a strong employee and on manager track. I have an offer to join D GPS as an SC with 20-30% more pay. The work would be similar. If I stay at Guidehouse I would likely apply for an MBA in Fall 2021. But if I join D, that would delay an year and I would apply in Fall 2022. What would you recommend from MBA and career sense? At this point, I'd be applying for an MBA at age 31/32.
For fellow locally staffed consultants , do you want to go back to the office after quarantine is over? I don’t . Personally the 1.5 hours I save daily commuting is worth it. I’ll add though that previous to this situation, I’m at a very laid back long term client and my manager doesn’t care as long as we show up to the office three times a week. So I may be slightly bias towards WFH. Thoughts?
