How much do Adcom care about an international's undergrad GPA? Would it be reported as part of the stats etc.? I've seen conflicting responses to this.

Articling student in Canada (8 month internship with potential hireback), currently doing transactional work. I’m WFH and having a hard time building relationships with partners. I’m friendly/chat with associates and am on great terms with one partner who gives me work often, but not much else. The firm “encourages” reaching out to partners to chat, though I’ve tried and been essentially ignored. Partners rarely have enough time to give me feedback, so I feel they don’t have time to chat.

Wondering how to best sell myself to adcom?

Goal is to transition into strategy or IT/digital consulting.

From what I have researched so far, my client related work in advertising sounds very similar to a consultant’s day-to-day.

Between client relations, developing brand strategies, analysing data, and implementations, I feel as if I’ve built a career that can easily transfer into consulting.

Thoughts?

For those who got an interview from Wharton, did you use an admission consultant? Was it a game changer?

I have a side hustle pulling in 5K/month, i manage all aspects of the business including sourcing, making, marketing, etc. is this something valuable to include in the application?

On paper, is there a distinction between emba, mba, part time mba?

CBS vs. Booth? Looking into a long term career in retail, but will probably come back to consulting in the short term (sponsored). NYC is a big plus for CBS, but Booth sounds like it has better culture and academic rigor. Appreciate any input!

For the SOM commitment essay is it shallow to describe monetary sacrifices like taking a 20% pay cut for a specific job to stick to commitment?

I’m applying to MIT and was wondering if anyone who got accepted has any tips? I find this super short cover letter very confusing in what I’m meant to write? Is it about my accomplishments or future goals or both? Also the new optional essay of “where have I come from”. Any tips appreciated.

Got admission at Booth, Sloan, Tuck, and Kellogg in R3 last spring. Deferred one year at Booth (chose it bc it’s the best of those schools and I also got a scholarship). Then applied to H/W this fall—rejected at both without interview—but am determined to re-apply to H/W in fall 2021, probably along with Columbia. Is it crazy to let go of Booth? Not feeling excited about going there. 760 GMAT, 3.3 GPA, Top 10 undergrad, 1.5 years in Econ consulting and 1.5 years at MBB (promotion coming up).
