Feeling very anxious these days. I still have my current job, a potential promotion this year, and a safe-choice job offer but not something that I wanted. Really want to jump ship but feel pretty burned out from the job application process after 40+ app and a few final round interviews. I plan to apply to McKinsey but my referrer left the firm 🙁, now I need to start over and to find someone else. Please send encouragement my way to have the energy for this process.
Ladies, I just got a 27% increase and a promotion! 4 years ago I was making under 30k as a secretary. I'm now less than 5k from 100k/yr. 😳 I am crying. I feel like I've made it, and I'm not done!
I think I’m overpayed for my title, but I don’t know. $82K in the Midwest. I’ve asked for a promotion and am taking on a lot more strategic tasks. Would I be out of line to ask for a 20% bump?
How do you deal with it when colleagues at your level get the promotion and you don't? Keep in mind they deserve it just as you did.
If you get an offer from another consulting firm and leverage it to get a raise at your current firm (thereby rejecting the other firms offer), will that forever ruin your chances of ever working for that other firm?
What do people think of the recent JK Rowling controversy? Just read her essay and it did raise some very interesting points. Wondering what others think
A follow-up to a post I made yesterday: it's looking more and more like I'll be up for a promotion (From a TA) to either a Delivery style PM or a "Junior/Associate" PM. A little background. I have an MS, however, it is in neither business nor tech. So my only tech experience is the 2.5 yes I have in my current position. However, I feel because it will be an internal promotion, my knowledge of our current system is something an outside hire could not bring. What sort of pay should I push for?
I'm one of the best creative at my agency and I won more awards than anyone else during this year. How can I ask a raise (or a bonus) considering the 2020 situation?
Hey there, I have two years of experience as an Associate at PwC, worked on projects as a Scrum Master, TOM projects, thought leadership for the AWM industry and digital banking industry. Looking to make a change and specialise. Been looking at internal consulting gigs at banks, other big 4, and tech companies but still unsure of what to pursue next. Any advice ?
Pwc, when do we see our bonus, which paycheck? I am switching first week of September and wanted to know if it makes sense to wait.. Not that the bonus is going to be any significant...
Accepting the amount of hate I'll get for this but in my opinion a small commuter plane shouldn't staff flight attendants with hips wider than the aisle. It's annoying to keep getting bumped by a$$ 😑
Anyone manage their own investments? How did you get started? All my money is either in a savings account or 401K and I feel like I should be doing more. But the investment world seems so intimidating, I have no idea where to start and how to ensure compliance with the firm
I hate this consulting lifestyle. I have no idea how people do this for more than 5 years. The hours and travel is getting to me.
Monday morning and the only thing that goes through my mind is wow I hate my job. Between the strict requirement of releasing billing time daily, high billable goal and I guess a heavy workload (and everything that comes with living through a pandemic) it’s hard to start my day excited for work. And I hate it. Makes me question why I’m doing this for a living.
Didn’t know who the CCO is when I was asked about it in an interview... is there anything I can do to redeem myself? I feel like I really dropped the ball on this lol
Hi! I wanted to ask what’s everyone’s opinions about starting off entry-level at an agency or going to corporate/brand side first (considering pay, work/life, culture)?
Hi, All - Looking for some Healthcare/Life sciences Partners who can share their perspective on Syneos Health Consulting - how is it viewed in the marketplace as a brand? Is it a viable competitor?
Are boat shoes too out of style? Trying to find a less formal alternative to dress shoes for a client that has a casual dress code but leadership still wants us to look presentable
