It really depends. Some firm majority of partners are in the $1-$2 mil range and there’s a few rainmaking partners taking home $20 mil and that’s how you get to the $3 mil PPP (more likely in eat what you kill). Other places it’s more evenly spread within a narrower band like $1-$5 mil but the big rainmakers may get poached because they’re relatively underpaid, unless they’re really attached to the firm for culture etc.
Define “bringing home”. After I net taxes, etc., I bring home 1.25-1.5 and am in the middle of the pack for gross compensation at my firm.
Yes, bring home meaning after taxes
Question is too broad. Profitability ranges widely in the “V20.” For instance, Covington, White and Case, and Wilmer are V20, but not in the top 20 in profitability. Firms at the top of V20 have PPP nearly double firms at the bottom. You should reframe your question based on firm profitability.
Using V20 as a proxy for PPP. So yes, let’s just go with the top 20 by PPP

At a V10 and it’s 1.5–7, with a handful of exceptions making above that.
