I see a lot of posts from people who are being put forward for interviews and comment on this forum about having concerns about whether what they are looking for will be achievable. My view is that salary should be discussed upfront and before 1st interview and expectations set so that the client and the candidate understand in advance each others expectations and that both can be met. I’m interested if their are thoughts on why you wouldn’t nail this down in advance. It guarantees no wasted time
Hows everyone playing the market today?

In the broadest sense, it’s money that’s “outgoing” bc of specific things being saved for (wedding, down payment) that just happen to be in future 🤷♀️
115k base. Around 3-3.2k a month (low rent due to living in a one bed with SO) Rest goes into savings/investments.
Also do not have any student loans or any type of debt
I make about 130k and spend about 3800 monthly.

$140k and about $4k month ($1700 for my half of the rent)
Annual household income is about $350k. Monthly, we spend about $3700 ($2500 on mortgage and maintenance) excluding retirement and savings.
How are you only spending 1700 on everything else? I’m in nyc and I spend around 4-4.5K a month (2K in rent and 2-2.5K in food/entertainment/shopping). I don’t feel like I’m living lavishly either. I only eat out on weekends and make my own food during the weekday.
I only shop at TJ’s and Costco for groceries and I don’t go out much, which I think makes the difference. I love going out to eat but generally avoid clubs and usually only get a drink or two at bars. Also am in a long distance relationship so don’t spend a ton on dates, although we spend a lot when we see each other
Thanks all! Looks like I should try to trim the budget a bit
