How much do you all typically pay for internet and for what speed? I'm thinking of switching providers and want a decent connection without going crazy. Is $75 per month too steep for 600 mbps?

I’m in Chicago and pay $48.99 a month for 20 mbps Internet. When I run internet speed tests I usually get 70-80 mbps though so great deal. Most people won’t need more than 20 mbps unless you’re gaming a ton and streaming a ton of videos at the same time.

$107 for gigabit on Xfinity. Connection speeds hover around 700 Mbps, with large downloads reaching 100 Mbps consistently. I'm a tech nerd and gamer with multiple 4k TVs and I would hate to ruin my fiancée's Chef's Table experience in 4k on netflix while downloading some 100 GB game lol.

I pay $75 for 1gbps but since it is Atnt, the speeds are closer to 3G

I negotiated and now pay $62 for gigabyte lol

I got $49.95 for gbps without negotiation

why in the world do you need 600mbps?

Don’t know about anyone else, but as an editor wfh, that 1gb comes in handy. Don’t have to worry about size of files up or down. Right now I’m uploading 2tb of raw cam files to our cloud archive. Would take me days without 1gb, rather than the 5ish hrs it takes now, while still able to stream YouTube or Netflix in 4K. And only costs $85/mo.

Also have Xfinity gigabit in Chicago and pay $70 / month

I had a deal for $80/month and that expired earlier this year. Seems the "retail" price is ~100

ATT has $49 special for 1000 mbps

I pay $85 for 60 Mbps, so no that’s not too steep. Gig can be had for ~$100.

I’m in Toronto and pay $50 CAD for 1gb download/upload with Beanfield. Actually symmetrical speeds unlike Bell Fibe which will give you ~30mbps upload with 600 down.

Unless you have multiple devices and/or are a big gamer, you don’t need more then 200mbps tbh. I pay $68/mo for 300 mbps but also have over 10 devices connected in my home

Google and AT&T just installed fiber in my area so we were able to get $70 for 1,000 mbp plan with Google and then switched to AT&T for $60 for 1,000 mbp plan as well for their promo periods. Once the promo period for AT&T is done, it’ll go back to $80.

No charge for the equipment fee. And HBO Max was included in the bundle for the promo period. AT&T has performed as well as Google, I think even better. The WiFi has been able to reach further in the house and I’ve been having less TV connection issues.

Y’all are suckers. You don’t need more than 50 mbps except for gaming. For 50 I pay $30 per month in Chicago.

Gaming doesn't need high bandwidth. Its more important for torrenting, multiple users, or UHD streaming.

$60 for Fios gig speed. I got in on a promo price and they’ve never raised it. And right now I’m glad for the bandwidth, with meetings from home and multiple kid streams at the same time.

Paying $85/mo for 1gb Fios in NYC.

1 gb for $50

Atlanta

I pay $30 a month for 1000 mpbs lol

Wish I had att in my area

Anyone know a way to avoid installation fees. Comcast is charging $89.99 ffs...

I have fiber cable run right into my house. 1gb for $65

Those of you without competition or choice in ISP... Are you negotiating lower prices? If so, how?

Hey everyone! I’m currently the Executive Director/ Administrator. I’ve been with the company for 4.5 years and I was promoted in the middle of the pandemic and have held my Executive Director position for almost 2 years. I make 67k and after doing some of my own research the average Executive Director makes 70k. How do I go about asking for a raise to make at least average wage? I have been looking at the curriculums for Harvard Business School's Master of Business Administration and Harvard Extension School's ALM in Management. They both have the same requirements (generally speaking) including a capstone course that serves as a field immersion course with the Master's in Management, which is fairly new. If I am not able to gain admission to Harvard Business School, but wanted a similar educational experience to become a consultant, should I attend Harvard Extension?

So I told my boss I had to take a half day Thurs and Fri. So I arranged my coverage & informed the person two days before via email. Then on Thursday my boss gave me an assignment and told me it was due Monday. So when I left early I personally said bye to her and the whole office. So Friday when I came in, she left a sticky note on my desk saying “things u forgot to do before leaving” and it said “ you didn’t tell anyone u were leaving, u didn’t remind ur coverage person, incomplete assignment”

Hi, I'm thinking of switching over from BDO to Grassi. Does anyone think this is a good switch ? BDO just doesn't feel like home and I don't feel like I'm gaining anything.

My husband never reads and wants to start reading as a new hobby. What is a good book that you would recommend for a 40 year old man? Not self help books, but maybe something with action. I think he would like the Bourne series, but he saw all the movies so he's not interested, but something similar.

Has anyone recently been laid off for returning to the office? My mom was recently laid off from HDR in Fort Worth after declining to return to the office. She’s filing in a Texas for unemployment, I just feel as a older employee (63) with a grand record of Hispanic relations she wouldn’t have been let go without refusing to return to the office.
