How much % do you contribute to your 401k?

I put up to the amount my company matches. I don’t do anything above that, as I don’t want my money tied up until retirement (would rather have the money available for house, kids college, and investment opportunities that arise)

It won’t be tied up until retirement. You can easily get money from a 401k in ~6 years. Leave a job and transfer it into a IRA. Wait 5 years and withdraw penalty free. So if you have a game plan of buying a house in 10 years you can contribute and withdraw. I don’t recommend this but you can do it. Also, you do have tax incentives to contribute to your 401k

I can’t figure how much I should put in to get max benefit! Sorry, noob here.

like

Maxing your 401K isn’t always the best benefit, if you are eligible for Roth IRA, I would do your 401K up to the match limit, then max the Roth IRA - then come back to the 401K. If you are not eligible for a IRA, then the 401K out makes more sense.

Depends where you live for Roth IRA, I live in nyc and don’t do Roth because my taxes now are higher than I expect them to be when retiring

like

26% to max out my 401k.

like

20%

I make 75k so I put in 25.33% to contribute the annual max of 19k

I put up to my company match (6%), but also max my Roth IRA

18-19k/year

12%

20% whole year which goes way above 19k. Rest of the money goes post tax into 401k. What other options do I have? Roth is out of option due to higher salary

8% to 401(k), 7% to Roth

Change my percentage every couple months depending on what I have on my plate in terms of expenses

Received a verbal offer from a recruiter congratulating me on clearing the final round. However did not receive a written offer or what the TC package would look like. They have started the right to work checks and the investments / pension plan declaration. Is this normal? Should I send across any documents or wait for the written offer to come through (not even sure if the terms offered would be favourable!!)?

Anyone faced a similar situation / have any advice on how to proceed? Thanks!

Naturally, former clients go there to bash or rave about their experience. While I know Yelp’s algorithm, I was wondering if anyone has any advice on pushing the negative reviews down so they’re not the first few that populate? The review replies are specific, detailed, & to the point as to why they’d write it, the outcome of their case, etc. I appreciate any help!
