OP did you receive an offer? And if so from which office? I’m currently interviewing for a similar role at Capital One.

I heard it's about ~$171k, but what's your YOE?

I've seen that number thrown around too, but yeah I assume it's an estimate/average. YOE and location probably feed into what an actual offer will look like.

I've seen anywhere from $165k to over $200k. I would assume that Cap One, being a bigger company, would pay on the higher end.

I'm asking for a friend that posed the question to me so I wanted to get others perspectives.

Say the focus is AWS and the individual has a Bachelor's in Network Engineering. Which do you recommend that they go into now?

Q about ISO stock options:
I work for a tech company that is still sorta considered a “startup” but has a little over 100 employees. I’ve been here 3+ years and have received about 39k stock options.

The company isn’t planning/talking about IPO and whatnot so I may not be here by the time it becomes public or acquired by another company. I’m pretty new to this so how do these options benefit me or how can I be smart about it so I can make the most of it when an acquisition or IPO happens?

Can you please share your thoughts on loyalty? I've been at my company for several years and was recently given a very large raise (with the unspoken expectation that it would keep me around for at least another year or two) but I'm considering leaving for an unbelievable opportunity - the money is a little less, but the responsibility is way more significant, and the company is growing faster than my company employer. At first I was thinking I can't take it because my current company has taken care of me, but also fuck it, it's my life, and at the end of the day it's a job. What do you think abt this conundrum??
