We spend close to $900 a month for 2 people. This also includes household items and some pet care. My husband eats a LOT and we’re both so busy that we pay extra for foods that are quicker to prep. It’s all relative!

$1500 - $2000 per month for two adults and two teens. Includes a monthly meat delivery (around $300) as well as toiletries, cleaners and paper products. We buy quality food and very rarely eat out, so I'm comfortable spending this much

200-300 for just me. Vegetables are the way to go. They cheap, I just roast them and sometimes put them in tortillas with some salsa. Cheap and healthy!

I plan ahead and only focus on a few. Plus often ill shop multiple times a week, but that budget still stays the same. Like I'll get Brussel sprouts and roast those for meals. Also supplement with fruits because I make smoothies daily. But I'll mix it up later with another veggie like brocoli. Throw in some tofu too. I think they key with veggies is focus only on one or two, and buy more regularly if you can

Averaging $60-70 every trip, so about $260/ month? For just me

like

I don't have a car so I'm limited to what I can carry (this is it honestly lol) and I almost exclusively shop at trader Joe's

funny

What are you people eating? I spend maybe $200/month for myself, if that.

like

I spend like $300 on groceries and then get bored mid way thru the month and then get door dash

$300. Mostly eat a lot of vegetables, bread, eggs, chicken thighs, and rice so not too expensive.

..... these numbers are shocking!!! $150-200/ week for 2, cooking all meals with the exception of 2 dinners out.

Same! And the occasional Costco with stuff that lasts forever...

850-900 for 2 people

like

$800 for 2 people

like

$800 two people, ordering food delivered or pick up to support restaurant industry :) not cooking at all

like

So 2 meals if I’m lucky to somehow eat breakfast/lunch :)

like

$600 for 2 ish people... maybe if I had to guess. I hope it’s not more

like

I try to spend only $40/order weekly - so only $150-$200. I freeze fresh veggies so they don’t go bad. I re-cook/ reveal leftovers often

like

$1000-1200 for two adults, 2 young kids and a very spoiled dog that eats home made people food.

$650 for just me

$400-$500 for 2 people

Same here!

like

~400 for just me but if I end up eating out at all etc I’d say ~500

We have a $400 grocery budget and $400 eating out budget. We usually don't spend all of it but 500$ for both category is accurate. Grocery is once a month at Costco.

Can someone explain how the MRNA vaccine is supposed to be a silver bullet despite increasing evidence that naturally produced antibodies from COVID-19 do not confer lasting protection? I know that it is made using a different method than the old “dead virus particles” method - is this method theoretically able to confer immunity to any pathogen?

I don't want to get vaccinated. I have debilitating anxiety, asthma, severe allergies to everything under the sun and afraid of a reaction. I have recently recovered from Covid too. I hate how ostracized society friends work everything is making me feel about this decision, which I know is only an inevitability at this point because my family is overseas and I can't not see them for the rest of my life. Anyone else in the same boat as me? PS. If ur here to bash on me keep it moving.

I have a standing offer with Accenture (AFS). Due to coronavirus, the recruiter told me they are pausing staffing of external people like myself while they take care of internal people on the bench. My recruiter said he would touch base monthly during covid, but usually I’m the one to reach out to him. We haven’t spoken since mid March, so should I reach out? I totally understand if they’re still in the same position as before and nothing changed since mid March in terms of hiring.

Hey everyone! Recent transplant (26 F) who moved here during Covid (family reasons) so still not quite familiar with the areas. I’m currently living in Brentwood but looking to move. I’m considering Marina Del Rey as I want to be a bit closer to the office (in Venice) and the airport for when things open back up/travel resumes. I tried searching here but didn’t see a lot - what is the reputation of Mar Vista (and if possible - how is that different than Brentwood?). All opinions welcome! 🙂

I broke up just before Covid, not having the slightest clue all this was going to happen. I know it was for the best, but I still keep thinking about my ex (even though he was a tool). I don't think I will meet someone anytime soon, which is fine I guess, but it just feels like the shit hit the fan in all areas of my life and I can't do anything about it. Just needed to vent.

In house interviews: I finished a final round of interviews and was expecting a final decision after the interviews. Rather than yes or no, the recruiter told me that the feedback is positive but they need to interview one more candidate to compare since I am the first one interviewed. And they wanted to add one more meeting with their new team member starting next week. Is this common and what’s the best way to deal with this unexpected message? Thanks!

I thought perhaps his parents kept an eye on him through the window, but today he was hanging on a neighbor’s front stoop for a good half hour. I went over to talk to him and see if (con’t)
