Rent: $1,350 Groceries: $250 (just me) Car & Renters Insurance: $123 I also eat out a little more than a should. I’ve spent $1,250 in the last 90 days on restaurants. I usually pay for my SO and I though since they’re still in school.

I try to keep all expenses to around $5000 a month. Rent is about half of that. I might be able to buy soon and am also looking at cutting down other expenses or getting more value for the money.

Oh therapy by far

$11k/mo, housing is a third of that. 2 ppl no kids

I have just completed my first of 12 CIMA exams and I can’t seem to motivate myself to study at the expense of my side hustle when I don’t see myself in Consulting long term. I know I will gain some valuable lessons from CIMA for future ventures but it is a 3 year qualification alongside a demanding job with minimal downtime. Should I try and qualify or focus on saving money and my side hustles? Also, do I need to qualify to work as a consultant in Big 4 or can I opt not to sit exams?

So someone I know asked HR about a boot policy. When he found out that there wasn’t one, but his boss said there was (who gave the guys $ for boots and the claimed it on his expense reimbursements as something else) the boss got mad at him for askingHR (and in trouble for the expense reimbursements) and then 2 days later laid off my friend. There appears to be no notice of bad performance and this person always was the first person on the job site ready to work. Thoughts?

How do you rebuild your cash after a large expense? We recently did a necessary renovation to part of our home, and even though we tried to be economical, it was still a big expense. I'm switching jobs and considering whether I want to roll over my 401(k). I have about $220k in my plan. Considering rolling it into an existing Fidelity IRA with a balance of about $50k. Since October of 2020, I've paid about $880 in "plan administrative fees" to my 401(k) provider as well as the fund expense ratios. It looks like Fidelity does not charge administrative fees on IRA accounts, so that seems to make it a no brainer, plus the investment options are much broader. What am I missing?
