Tier hotels. I’d also like to be able to eat any food I want. Doesn’t necessarily have to be extravagant dining every night but maybe a couple times a week. I plan to hit about 20 countries throughout mostly asia and Europe . Australia and new Zealand will be in the mix as well. Thoughts are 35-40k should be enough.

Think I found it. The bucket list family right?

Depends on your lifestyle on the road, what activities you want to do, and how long you’ll spent in western countries vs Asian countries. The disparity in cost of travel between those two groups of countries is quite significant. That said - I would think 35k should be fine.

With that budget you’re basically saying you want to live on $100 a day. That’s extremely reasonable! If anything I’d say you could try to afford the trip on $20-25K and still be fine. Would recommend making a spreadsheet with sample durations for different cities you’re interested in and include costs for lodging, food, transportation and entertainment. See where that gets you!

Your budget seems reasonable. I followed a couple on Instagram that did it on 45k and they had some big splurges

Bcg1 what was their screen name?

OP I’ve budgeted 40k usd and that’s staying in hostels not hotels but depends on travel and if you want money to do stuff

Check out shegone.girl on Instagram. We met her when we were traveling in Vietnam (and she literally lived a mile from us in Chicago), and her story is awesome. She quit her job last year and has been traveling since last fall. She finds volunteer opportunities in each city she goes to which usually provides her with a free room and amazing stories (plus the camaraderie of other volunteers/travelers). You might not be into that sort of thing, but she might be able to help you with an idea of how much she has spent on travel. And if you are into that sort of thing, I think she’d be an awesome person to talk to about her experience. Plus she’s just a cool ass chick! Send her a DM on IG and tell her Allison and Kevin from Chicago sent you!

Following as I am looking to do this myself in the near future
