How much do you typically contribute to a group gift for a coworker? (Ex. baby shower, wedding, etc)

Oh noooo....are your corworkers that bad?

Most everyone I work with makes 6 figures. Depending on the group size and whether they’re direct reports I contribute $10-$20.

It honestly depends but on average I would say about $20-$25/hour.

We are pretty much close so we give individual gift plus a group gift. As for the latter, I think around $20.

When we end up giving separate gifts, I typically spend around $20, but for group gifts, I think $10 is already more than enough.

I guess $10 to $15. It really depends on the item we're planning to buy for them. We usually just have someone do the canvassing and then we all just divide it equally.

Found out I am getting a promotion out of a re-org…. Yay! Is it appropriate to negotiate the offer when there was no posted position to “apply” to? My old school retired father advised no — just smile and say thank you (unless I’m ready to walk away). However, with the current economy and state of everything, is it really so offensive? Is there a way to say thank you *and* I need a bigger bump? Help!

Hi there! After almost 4 years without working (relocated from Argentina to the US, got pregnant and decided to raise my son) I have started to look for a job almost 2 months ago. With more that 35 applications already…. Nooo news at all . I’m starting to get frustrated… I believe that the fact that I’m not working is playing against me. Maybe they believe that my brain has turned into a marshmallow because I haven’t been working for the last 4 years ….. Any advice? My field is FP&A. Thanks!

How do you all set boundaries and keep work from creeping into your time with your family every day? As a new mom going back to work I’m finding this to be difficult. I was always available and did whatever needed to be done before having a child, but now I really want to be able to shut down at the end of the day and be done, so I can soak up time with my baby.

So I feel I must do a shoutout to this bowl.. I had my first child when I was 17 worked my ass off and finished my masters. I ended up at Accenture in an internal role when I was invited to fb. I joined this group and exit ops. Never in my life had I had imagined the amount of money people could make! When I saw these salaries I quickly realized how underpaid I was. Through a series of detours and chance I’m leaving for a tc of 250. I realize to many people on this app is not a lot but to me it

Hi Hexaware,
This question is for my brother.
He joined h3xaware as fresher this year and has unknowingly declared medical insurance for parent. As I am already having another medical coverage for them. Is there a way to opt out of the insurance from portal.
It caused a deduction of 2k from his salary and is not required.

Any information on this or process will be really appreciated

Im a RN and took on a new role working in Home Health. I chose this position because My husband & I recently moved to PA with our 2 kids (1&3), with no family available for his residency program with a hospital. If you know that life, I’m pretty much the main parent for our kids. I don’t want to work in the hospital/floor work anymore; nor do I believe the hrs are flexible enough. I need a job that’s flexible for the kids but pays >$44/hr. Maybe remote or hybrid? Please help w/ suggestions.

Is it worth negotiating….
I was given an verbal offer yesterday for a great job as an account manager for a new company. The verbal salary offer came in 2k short of what I told them my minimum salary requirements would be. The job has great perks and to be honest I still may take the offer if they reject my counter.

The other thing is how much more should I ask for? Hypothetically if I wanted 50k and they offered me 48k, how much should I ask for in the counter, I was thinking maybe 5k more
