What advice do you have for an A1 audit associate at a B4 trying to get into strategy? I’m tired of doing this work, it feels meaningless to me and strategy seems to be in line with what I want to do. Any advice would be great, thanks!
My husband is one year older than me but is still making significantly more money than me. He started off at a B4 (2 yrs) but recently moved to a local firm that "pays less than market" for a better..
EY - been seeing a few open roles for ‘Strategy & Transactions’ lately such as ‘Transaction Strategy and Executin’. Are these EY-P/PJP or something more akin to transaction services/vals/M&A integration? Currently at big 4 strategy with focus on CDDs and business model redesign.
Question to those familiar with consultancy in the Big 4 (in the UK). I'm a chartered engineer with a management masters degree and APM certs, and have around 8 years experience in the energy industry and now nuclear as a Project Manager. What level of roles should I be looking at in firms like Deloitte, EY or PwC ? Thinking Manager or Senior Associate/ Consultant? Which seems more accurate based on experience? I've lots of experience setting up major projects and working on operating models.
Any A&M folks in here? I’ve heard good things about your comp for seniors. Can anyone here give me the breakdown for a) base salary b) VC and c) quality of life compared to big 4 FDD? May heavily consider switching soon
Joined a big 4 from a tech company for a higher pay (40% increase). 2 months in I’m not happy with my move. Most of my day is spent creating presentations, spreadsheets, and following up on trivial items from team members. Is this the life of Managers and beyond in Consulting? I thought I’d be involved in designing and architecting solutions for clients.
I am considering to hire an external tax advisor instead of working with our firm’s. Firm’s tax advisor doesn’t cost me (40 hr cap though) but they are very conservative for obvious B4 partnership reasons. Curious to find out from fellow B4 partners, esp if use outside tax advisor, what fee structure or range is there for tax planning and filing. CA state resident here
Big 4 FDD Partner added me on linkedin and asked if I would like to meet for coffee to learn about their firm. I accepted since I think it's a good networking opportunity but what are some good questions to ask? I'm looking to learn as much about their firm and possibly consider them if they exceed my expectations. Currently S2 at a middle market firm.
I have an offer to join Commercial Assurance but I’m not sure what career path that could lead me to if I was to leave Big 4 - thoughts?

How long does it take for an Associate to make EM in Oliver Wyman’s CFA practice? And what’s the base and bonus range for associates? They are trying to hire me down as I have offers from comparable groups in B4 but OW is a better cultural fit
What should the floor be for salary expectations in B4 FDD Denver offices, S1 external hire.
I’m a first year tax senior in PCS, working primarily in compliance - passthroughs and individual returns. I have no interest working in public five years from now, or doing much compliance at all, although I do enjoy working with numbers. Already have my CPA too. What paths out of the b4 exist for someone like me?
So a PPMD I worked with at a B4 is moving to an MBB firm. How should I ask them to pull me in to their practice?
Hi everyone! I need some advice. I got two offers, both in Tax Tech as senior associate, one at a B4 and the other in industry. I’ve got a couple YOE in tax compliance, but concerned if leaving PA would be a good decision. TIA!!
Is there a big difference between MM and B4 WLB? I liked the people at the MM firm better, but don't if B4 means that much I could see myself staying.
Applied several times to Investment Banking at the Director/MD level at many of the Top 10 to Top15 investment banks. Most times, the status doesn't change or even when it changes, I have never gotten a phone screen. I have got 15+ experience with 5 in banking and 10 in Consulting - Financial Advisory (M&A / Corp Fin). Work at a small boutique and came to the US from Africa in 2012. I've given up on Big 4 positions as I sense biases in screening.
Any thoughts or insights that could help?

Father began ignoring me once I became pregnant after a 2 yrs together. He respects my wish to keep baby but rudely says he’ll get involved once baby arrives. I text him once every 6 weeks to see if he wants to make decisions on what’s happening when the baby arrives. I committed to moving out of town for a job before I knew we were pregnant. Is there anything I can do to get a reluctant Father interested during pregnancy? Should I keep sending updates or just call when baby is born?

Looking to move into a fraud/forensics field. Currently in Financial Services Consulting for 3 years and hate it. What are some possible paths that might be a good place to start?
Forensics pays well compared to most areas of finance/accounting, but I’m curious why we don’t charge more and pay closer to law/MC/IB?
Our clients depend on us to win or lose sometimes billions of dollars for them on a given project. We work extensively with financial modeling (IB), exec/client-facing work, presentations, visualizations, slides (MC) and logical arguments, investigation, heavy reading, extensive writing (Law) as well as some tech, stats, data science, and standard accounting
Any EY Forensics agile promotions?

I’m thinking of leaving audit after my second busy season. My main interest in accounting has always been forensics /fraud . Also thinking of going the CFE route instead of CPA( did it a few times and haven’t passed ) but I pass the CPE reviews more. What position should I apply to or transfer into ? Also do I look for a senior position or just an associate. Please any input will be helpful
This gets asked a lot, but could y’all give salary ranges for each rank (senior, manager, SM etc) in HCOL for Technology. I really have no good idea of the salary growth.
