@OW2 honestly with how slow the business is, I don’t think the firm has room to increase compensation across the board, at least in the near term. Just annoyed at how leadership is denying that the firm underpays middle managers (see OW bowl) so wanted to gather data for own curiosity
Typically how long does it take to manager? At OW, it takes roughly 4 to 5 years. Management argues that below market pay for manager salaries compensate for faster progression, but don’t think progression is actually faster
You should have a tough chat with someone about that ^. MBAs coming in making a lot more
BCG1 provided details above. Base+Bonus +Retirement
EY - 115k and 3% bonus. PI strategy practice. Homegrown. I need to quit now.....
I am sorry that's super low! I am SA making more than you. You should quit immediately!
4 years from u/g or 2 years from MBA
Good luck bringing this to the big OW 🐟.. @BCG , your first year PLs make 250-300 base?!?!
As of end of this year, true. Moving forward, it has gotten worse lol. They added Sr. Manager, not too sure how this would work out in terms of pay and time/tenure to director.
^this is a very rare exception. There are cases of course, but even top performers won't get the Director promotion in 2 years.
It’s highly misleading to imply 5-6yrs is anywhere near the norm to Principal these days at OW
172 base for manager with potential for 55% bonus. Manager comp rises to 200k by 3rd year, again with 55% bonus potential (roughly 1/3 get the 55%)
250-300 base, bonus, retirement
In my practice (comp varies by practice):
Manager is 4-5 years. Usually $150k plus 25% target bonus with no MBA.
Managers who were hired from B School usually end up at $180-$200k plus same target bonus
175-180k base and up to 50% performance based cash bonus.
VP1, doesn't matter. The difference would be the amount of time it takes to make manager. It would be longer for Associates (4-6yrs) compared to SA (2-3yrs). As for M2, not sure, but I believe same bonus level but the typical standard of living adjustment on base.
Thanks Strategy& 1! Any truth in the fact that Strategy& is providing a fast track and open to promoting managers to directors in 2 years? (Obviously high performers, etc)
At Deloitte, manager is level 4 and takes roughly 6-7 years. Looking at 145k and $30k bonus if you’re homegrown and 165k and $30k bonus I’d you’re out of an MBA.
OW is definitely one of the highest paying firms, especially due to the fast promotions. I’m stunned you didn’t know that
OW doesn’t do fast promotions anymore, at least compared to MBB / other non big 4
Tier 2’s.
And yes, S& promotes very quickly especially due to attrition. Good undergrads can expect to be promoted to S.A. without an MBA (but at full MBA comp) by 25. Manager by 27 very reasonable. Director by 30. Unless you choose to quit (which the majority do) you’d make Director by 30 presuming you perform well.
180k base, <=30k performance, <=100k revenue management bonus, <=20% firm profit share
We typically have to manage 2 cases throughout the year to max out the revenue bonus.
Wait so net net how much do managers make?? Looks like a shit load
