How much does certifications matter consulting companies like IBM, TCS, Infosys, HCL, Capgemini, Cognizant etc?

I heard that consultancies get higher billing for certified candidates from clients.

Is that true?

Will it help to avoid being first in line while layoffs and releases?

nope, nobody cares, experience and career level counts when billing

Skills matters

True, to a certain extent. Have some skill certification under your belt.

Certifications are not the true indicator of your knowledge and skills but if you are planning to change your jobs then this will give you an edge over others...having said that you still have to perform better in interview. Certifications also help in revising the core concepts 🙂!

If you are trying to pickup new skills or change your domain in that case certification can be helpful as it will give you idea of basis process and steps involved. It will make the transition easier.

Layoffs are mostly driven by financials and hardly any skill would matter.

Hi everyone, unfortunately I was recently affected by a layoff at my company. About 30% of their marketing department along with other departments were all let go. I have 3+ professional experience with product marketing, digital marketing, and event management. Im on the hunt for a new job and am fairly new to this lovely city. If you know of anyone looking for marketing specialists or would like to network let me know. Id love to connect!

Has anyone else developed a massive paranoia about getting fired? I’m terrified that any mistake will get me fired. My manager is very emotional in their reactions so it’s traumatized me a bit

Getting laid off

Looking to get in Health Tech

Can anyone assist? Any leads or referrals?

I didn't get the new senior registration email. Am I fired?

SO thinks the best time to move to tech will be during a recession. Reasoning being more RSUs when tech stocks are taking a beating. They are in cloud and believe cloud migration, dig. strategy projects won't be impacted as in layoffs.

Anyone else believe the same or see a hole in their argument?

I recently got an offer from accenture. But I am not sure about job security as I heard accenture has laid off many employee. Need your input on this please.

Tech strategy to reduce staff by about 10%. Target date: Unknown. How: Natural attrition + layoffs. There's always a target, just higher this yr, & due to lower attrit, layoffs are 5-10x normal.

How much is too much reaching out? Some context: I’m on the bench and I spoke to my SM about my availability on a Monday. They say they will find me some work. But I don’t hear from him at all. When do I reach out and how often should I follow up until he actually gives me what I need. The layoffs here at Accenture has me stressing over WBS codes so much.

People do some stupid shit. Does anyone think this associate is going to get fired?

I feel like my agency hired too many people. I’m worried they’ll eventually have layoffs. Has anyone left their agency because they’re worried too many people were hired?

Morning! Being laid off sux, I been down this road 5x in my career it never bets easier.

Dust off contacts and make your rounds
* if you’re in a good position to take time off do some, seems we all need a mental break anyway

how many times did you think you were going to get fired as a first year associate?

I’m finding that a weird side effect of losing my job in this climate is ad agencies taking advantage of my weakened position. They get in touch, proactively or in response to my reaching out, and they want to hire me as they are in good shape. When I reveal I was laid off, the offer changes to freelance or maybe nothing. My work, awards, the fact that they know me and approached me in the first place should be enough. I don’t want to lie about my situation. Any ideas how to avoid this?

Got laid off today. Nothing to do with my performance, mainly about hard to deal with those old timers. Company is being ridiculous. I was a health care consultant, any advice? Thanks in advance.

I joined EY GDS in Jan 2022 and still haven't got any billable project. In such cases, is there a chance that they don't give confirmation once the probation period is over? Is there a chance of layoff?

Got laid off today fam. Pwc layoffs are still going on so polish up those resumes!

Lost my job ! No severance provided. Is this normal scenario. Low utilization
