Facebook (Meta) workers! Looks like Meta is facing a whole lot of turmoil - ad revenues down, MAU stagnant and the pivot to the metaverse still a ways off.
I'm currently interviewing to join WhatsApp (cool role, better pay, team seems nice) but frankly, I'm concerned there might be layoffs and trouble over the next four years.
What's the vibe like inside and do you have any thoughts on whether it's a good idea to join WhatsApp atm. Aware it might be spun off to appease regulators.
The only thing that matters to me is my paycheck. If you want pay me 500K a year and my title is dumpster guy that’s fine by me.
I would much rather have a janitor title with that pay.
It’s normal in house. If they don’t value the title and you are sensitive about it, either you leave / request it/ accept it.

Why would the company care that the title they give you limits your mobility to leave lol.
Title somewhat matters to me, but mostly because it impacts the respect and resources I get. I happen to know I’m paid higher than many the next level up but my work justifies it. I just had a talk with my performance coach that the lack of resources on engagements would push me out long before the pay.
As for respect, I’m fairly informal but expect you to treat me as a coworker and professional. If title changes how I’m treated (there’s always a Nick, Stacy, or Kevin) they can go fornicate with a cactus.
