Hi All! I need some quick advice. Is it better to go for a MBA (over 17k in debt) or a ProSic certification? My company would cover the cert, but they don’t offer any tuition reimbursement, unfortunately… I want to be at the Director level in 5years, but I’ve heard I need a graduate degree to even be considered… I’ve considered leaving my current company just for better benefits/pay.
It looks like I’m going to go 0/3 on my MBB apps :( Where are the next best consulting firms to go to assuming that my primary goals in no particular order are MBA placement, compensation, project/industry variety, and ability to be promoted quickly?
CEH or Pentest+ ? I am being offered an opportunity for training and certification in either. CEH seems more marketable but I keep reading criticism of EC Council and the quality of their credentials. Pentest+ is newer and having it will renew my stack of Compton certain. Neither really line up to my goal of sitting for the CISSP
I am a data analyst thinking to take the CFA instead of the MBA or MS. Am I making the right choice?

I have writter one certification and planning to write next in some time later. I can not claim in my current company the amount I paid for cer006 (52k).
I’ve heard that some T2 (OW, LEK, Parthenon) firms pay home-grown (ie someone who joined out of undergrad and has been promoted) post MBA consultants less than those hired directly out of business school, is this true?

I am just between a career pivot and I need some advice. I graduated in Biochemistry near the top of my class with an expectation to go into medicine so I had been working in clinical research. But I decided otherwise and want to go into business now, as an analyst. I have some logistics experience and getting the AWS Cloud Practitioner certification but I need to start a new role ASAP. What is the best way to proceed? (I don't even know how to align my resume for this pivot...)

Any attorneys in the Bay Area practicing just in estate planning (not litigation), can you give your take on whether you would get enough business to do only planning? I'm currently doing family law and I want to start moving away from litigation. For family law there really isn't a non litigation role that produces enough business (i.e. mediation). I do okay, but definitely have to take on more litigation than I prefer. I was thinking estate planning might be a good addition to the mix.
I recently switched to a Customer Engineering role but now thinking about switching to SRE or Site Reliability Engineering. My ultimate goal is to be more close to the product or code. The partner I work with wants me to dictate everything for the secretary to type. I feel that I am better at typing and more productive typing my work out. I have never dictated anything in my life and don’t think I would be very efficient or effective at it, I also hate the sound of my own voice. He keeps trying to push me into dictating but I want to type my stuff out, I do not think I am that slow at typing my work etc and I am getting assigned tasks done so I do not see a difference.
Hi! What’s the best high yield savings account and should I put my emergency fund in one?
I’m at the point that I start trembling every time I get an email alert. It’s the little things piling up that is getting to me. The to do list full of, “send emails to X about Y,” “follow-up re this,” “revise the 100 small things the baby lawyer drafted.” Tasks that might take 15 minutes to an hour individually, but all together it’s a lot. I’m the bottle neck. I’m the one who needs to move these things along. But there’s always something bigger and more urgent. Nothing’s ever FINISHED.
