Just found $60 in my wallet! It’s a good day
$100 for farmers market and bakery runs. But I had a designer friend who never left home without $3000 cash. His father fled WWII Europe and impressed upon him that one never knew when one might need to run.
Pro
I thought of walking around with $3000k in cash at all times would scare me more (in the aggregate) than the reality of having to flee and start over with $0.
But then again in my mind, I would just get a job elsewhere. I grew up low income. If we're talking fleeing from war or a great depression, well yeah gonna wish I had a much better back up plan.
-$40K
paper currency
Rising Star
$300, give or take. My fav restaurants prefer cash.
Rarely ever have paper cash. Maybe like $20 here and there.
Rising Star
Whenever I find cash in my or my husbands wallets we can never remember where it came from. Probably birthdays or small odd jobs
Rising Star
Nothing to exciting my husband has a 3D printer and sells prints(mostly to our landlords). He also occasionally helps with technology issues they have( installing a ring door bell, bringing a computer back to life, etc).
1,000 at home, usually $40-60 in my wallet.
$200 in wallet, 1k at home
Probably 3k in cash and a couple gold bouillon for when the shit hits the fan
I have 100 in my wallet and 100 at home. That is for emergency house repairs. I found that repairmans prefer cash so I keep that just in case.
1-3k. I gamble at casinos/card games often.
Pro
Usually around $100 in the house a f car and in my wallet.
It saved me from a few situation. Nothing terribly dire, but certainly big inconveniences.
PATH system was down and the nearest station accepting cards was 15 blocks away.
Taxi card reader down. Cash only or late night stop at the atm.
Vending machine card reader/wifi down (some don't even have CC readers) and i was starving and everything was closed.
Tip for housekeepers.
Tip for mobile car detailers.
Parking meters when the CC reader was busted (although in NYC I've been using the app).
Tolls in the rental card.
Street vendors.
Farmers market when spending less than $10
When buying something less than $2.
I rarely use cash, but I'm shocked by people who can say they haven't used cash in a typical (non covid) 6 month period.
I probably haven’t used cash to make a purchase in over a year. The only thing I used cash for is home food deliveries and I keep some singles in my nightstand for that.
Other than that, I usually have $0 in cash on me. Although ironically I do have some foreign currency that I keep on me
Minimum 6 months gross salary (bank), usu. zero paper bills
Like $100-$200
Rising Star
We have almost no tipping needs in quarantine so my paper cash has been zero for about 6 months.
Usually between bodega runs and tips it’s about $80
Whatever my hubby has in his wallet currently. I haven't kept cash in a decade. Don't even know where my ATM card is anymore.

I am the worst, I can usually find a dollar or 2. I hate cash
Between $1k and $2K in our home safe and $40-$50 in my wallet.
Usually $40 to &60. Though currently $33
$0. I can remember the last time I used cash to buy anything.
