DDD is up 80% today....just sold half of my shares to lock in some profit. I’m new to this selling game (have always been a long holder). Is it a good strategy to wait for it to dip back and buy more? Or am I not doing the Math right here...

If my bonus is added in to my salary, should I lower my 401k contribution for just that paycheck? I want to make sure I get as much of the bonus as possible.

I’m looking to purchase a home. I have enough for 20% down and I qualify for a traditional mortgage but my dad suggested he lend me the full cash to make the sale that way I have more negotiating room and can close faster. Then once I close I can refinance it and keep 20% in the house and pay my dad back for the 20%. Is there a downside to this? Will it get messy?

529 NY question. I want to setup an account for my daughter. Planning to contribute $10K to maximize the tax deduction as a married couple.
(1) Should my wife and I setup two accounts for our daughter with $5K each? Or ok to setup a single account under one of our names?
(2) Understand $10K is below the annual gift tax but 529 is considered a gift. Is it good practise to document this in some shape/form? Like a one page doc that my wife and I sign stating we gifted to a 529 $10K in 2022.

Worked my way up to wealth advisor in Citi after 4 years. Now that I am about to start building my book, I have Merrill poaching me. They have called me a couple of times to move to their financial advisor program. Same pay for the first year but 25% more bonus. Second year Merrill pays substantially more if you hit your goals. After that you are comission based. Citi is more job security but Merrill is higher growth potential. Thoughts?

Hello Everyone! Had a discussion yesterday regarding “claw backs” being included in a policy for sponsorship if the new employee leaves before 3 years. It was a declining percentage over a three year period. My POV was that it wasn’t something I’ve ever done and didn’t seem like they were sure of the hire they were making. Bought some ETH a few weeks ago that I plan to basically hold for a few years. I see on Coinbase I can stake my ETH for ETH2 which will be locked in until ETH2 launches, but I get 3.7% APR. is there any downside in this that I’m missing?

Not sure who needs to hear this but this bear market is a normal part of the crypto cycle. Remember the feeling when you thought everything was going to the moon, now you have the feeling everything will go to 0. It’s “normal.” Bad projects will die but the stronger ones will emerge even stronger. Welcome to 🥶 and see ya on the other side. (And IMO wouldn’t DCA into anything other than BTC / ETH for the next few months)
