How much is the 401K matching at your company?

PwC - where do I find info one rolling an old employers 401k into pwcs? I have the info for my current 401k but need to know what to do with the check, etc.

Want to start my investing journey! I have about $70K I feel comfortable investing (have around 100K in total but I need to make sure a decent chunk is in my emergency savings because of health issues). I make 92K as a 25-year-old (max out my 401K and Roth IRA) and live in an HCOL location. Any advice on where to start? Should I self-invest or look into financial advisors? Would love any and all advice, thanks

At what age are you planning to retire?

$130k is not enough to cover living expenses for me and my wife in N. Va. We always overspend by around $300 every month. We are doing this thing where we live on my income (the 130k) and save all the money my wife makes, because I was naive enough to think I made a lot of money. I feel like we are relatively frugal, so I was surprised to find that $130k was not enough for two people. Just wanted to share. Thoughts?

28YO. Maxing out IRA / 401k. No loans. Generally risk averse so have about $100k spread between savings and an HYSA. Will use this for a down payment but not for another 2 years (at least), so I feel like I’m losing out on a lot of investment opportunity. Should I put all of this into etfs? Somewhere else? Leave as is? How does the tax work when I withdraw the money from a brokerage account or something ?

For the KPMG folks, if we are rolling over funds from 401k to IRA (traditional and/or Roth) is there a way to request separate checks for the taxable vs. non-taxable amounts? I don’t want to have any previously taxed amounts in my traditional IRA. I want to roll that portion over to the Roth.

Curious as to views on alt. inv. Anyone stray off the beaten path with any of the below? 1.) Bitcoin mining (aka worth the initial investment in the hardware?) 2.) real estate REITs - most likely through Fundrise 3.) peer-2-peer lending. 4.) cryptocurrencies 5.) franchising a (cheap) business 26M, debating if any of them will yield higher returns than my VTTSX fund, which I invest in through both 401k & Roth. Curious as to your guys thoughts.

At this time my qualifier for prospects is: Do they prospect have old 401k or existing account with advisor. How do I create a sense of urgency so that they'll meet with me?

Just graduated college and started in consulting. Currently working on OPT and will be entering the lottery for H1B next year. I don’t know if I should contribute in 401K now due to the uncertainty with H1b visa. My employer is matching 6%. Would really appreciate any advice here. And if I should, should it be pre tax or post tax. I’m new to this so don’t know much! Thank you!

Question about contingent offers. So I got off from a recruiter and they gave me a contingent offer. During the call I gave my salary range and the offer itself had the midpoint,but the TC is highest I have received (e.g 15% 401k contribution). I understand that i am not hired when I sign it and the recruiter said he encourages me to look elsewhere too since it is dependent on prime accepting me. With that said, should I negotiate the contingent offer or just accept it and is that set in stone?

Hello! I just moved to America and I’m learning a lot about what to do with my new pay check. I’ve no debt (thank you European health and education!). I’ve maxed out my 401k contribution, and I got a credit card to build a credit score.
