Mine was 5k on our combined income of 110k. But I think refund as a % of your salary is not a very relevant fact. You can tell them to withhold 100% of your income if you'd like, and at the end of the year you could say you got a refund that's 90% of your salary. But that's not indicative of your tax liability or effective tax rate.

It’s not about what you get back or what you pay - it’s what you withhold. You will pay the same tax over the course of the year no matter what your refund is. The news media is twisting this message to fit their agenda

To answer the question though, our refund was $2300 and I withheld 10 all year. Two kids and a wife who works part-time was a recipe for tax success this year. My effective tax rate was 4.4% lmao
