Hi everyone! Curious if anyone here works for Slack and can shed a little light on the culture and perhaps offer a referral for an associate brand manager position I just saw on LinkedIn. With the Salesforce acquisition are SF employees allowed to refer for Slack roles? Currently a senior analyst with 4 YOE looking to break into a branding role! Thanks in advance.

Senior SWE at Capital One, 160k base, 10-20k bonus, also 7.5% 401k match…definitely lower than FAANG because of the missing stock options but it’s still insanely comfy.

Everyone, don’t be disheartened by sky high tech salaries, it’s mostly just FANG that has skewed the pay.
Want to jump? FANG has both tech and non-tech roles. Find your fit and apply. For more information, your two friends are going to be levels.fyi and “blind” app.
Good luck, you got this!

Director of Product at a fintech. $165K base; 30% bonus with potential for funding up to 200% ($50K min or $100K max payout); $5K equity, 6% 401K match, $10K pension, and guaranteed raise of 3-5% a year.
Definitely low in the stock area but the bonus more than makes up for it (and a pension is nice too).
Rising Star
The pension adds $10K each year via monthly deposits and 5% interest rate. The company deposits into it as soon as you’re employed and it fully vests after three years for withdrawal.
For the raise, it’s a department benefit in company and one of their big recruiting perks. It was part of my comp and benefit package. The recruiter I worked with said they paid that raise every year and as a manager, I can see that my directs who’ve been here for years have always had that paid out.
1. How many RSUs have been vested?
2. What’s your plan after the 4 year cliff?
3. How are the annual refreshers?
Location largely determines comp, so hard to compare unless we’re just assuming everyone is Bay here
Good point, people should also list location
Customer Care Team, $22 an hour but a ton of benefits. $440 a month towards food, 100 shares of stock, 0 premium insurance, and a few other small things.
I think if a person is only experienced in retail/entry level customer care Wix is a FABULOUS company to work for and has fantastic benefits. I love our Miami team. I also think that at higher levels like dev and leadership it’s a great job to have, that said it seems to be very difficult to move from one to the other. I’ve been here about 2 years and been unable to move to leadership despite being the top of my peers for over a year, so I’m getting ready to leave, even though I love Wix.
L5 PM, too! My base is only 170K. Time to ask for a salary bump!
Include location - same roles can pay quite differently depending on location
L7 Network Engineer, fully remote, 40k signing bonus, 252k base + 25% bonus target, 770k hire grant (33/33/22/12% over 4 years) worth a lot less now…
Refresh should happen so that the target comp is continuing through years 3 onward, avoiding a cliff. Which typically means a refresher grant in year 2 that starts vesting in year 3 etc. It wasn’t always this way, so different people (who have been here longer) may have different vesting schedules. But this is the current scheme.
Non-FAANG, Biz Ops, Sr Mgr, HCOL
Base $200k, 20% bonus, $40k RSU
I think Analyst might be 2 or 3 levels to Sr Mgr? Eg, Analyst, Manager, Sr Mgr? But I’m not sure…
Non FAANG, Seattle
Lead Product Designer, $78K
Not sure if this is really low lol
This is in Denver which I presume Seattle roles to pay slightly better (you can check out levels.fyi to get more salary data). For reference, the other Product Designer on my team with 2 years experience is making $90k and is looking for other jobs because she feels that is low. Just sharing what’s been happening in the Denver market around me!
