Hi Sharks,
I had first round of CITI interview this week and today I got a mail asking for documents submission. Does that mean this had only one round and I have cleared that? Generally documents are asked only when we clear all the rounds. Who has given CITI interview please let me know. Thanks..Citi

Depends, we should not compare, but atleast 5-6 rejections can give you some set of questions and directions to know, where one is lacking, then we can work to correct that area and keep on going
I feel fortunate enough to interview for 3 positions during my final semester of the college abd getting selected in all three. However, since then whenever I had to switch, which i did twice since then, took at least 20 interviews+rejection emails+ghosted calls+rejection calls totalling upto 6 months to a year to make a move to a different company. It changed my perspective the first time around when someone from the recruitment team told me I had extremely high expectations just because my then employer was paying me considerably higher than the industry standards.
To sum it up, once none, since then a ton! 😂🤘🏻
7 month as I switched to new technology... learnt by myself.
@sse no
@cts yes, show fake experience and do poc from your end.
When I started giving out interview, the first one was a hard bouncer since lot of things were new to me which were asked, since regular work usually dont go on that line to understand the concepts in depth, So first one was like I was able to answer but on some topics I was completely blank out since context of the topics were missing, so I noted down each and every question asked in the interview and understood the concepts which I wasn't able to answer and even saw the ones I know again to see if I had any gaps in my understanding. I'll say interviews are all about confidence and truth, if you dont know an answer just say "Im unsure about the answer currently/Im not recalling the concept currently", interviewers think differently on this answer:
1. You are not wasting time on concept you dont know and allowing the interviewee to ask more questions
2. You dont know anything.
I have seen most interviewees are happy when we say Im unsure about the answer, it happened me in one of the interviews with EY, it was some Technical Round 2 and he appraised me for telling I dont know the answer currently, he also said great that you didn't took up time revolving around the answer and saved time for both :)
The 2. one is very less that people will think of that you have lack of knowledge on saying this, but it would be 1 out of 100 interviews.
Never get disheartened on rejections, they are a way you can analyze where you are weak at and act upon it :). I think any interview you can fail but what you gain from failing is much Precious than what you'll not achieve if you get success, That's new things to explore.
I myself also take interviews in company.. General trend I see here is nobody in my panel mostly ready to take risk of selecting candidate in L1 Round even though he performed about 80% good.. because they fear about his/her performance in In L2 or mangerial round.. so they think its easier to reject than select as they dont want to take blame.. it mostly happen in product based
Countless Rejection .Don't worry from the rejection .That's the process .Tumhara kaam hain interviews dete rehna .Lage Rehna .Koi Na Koi Kabhi Na Kabhi Haan Keh Hi Deta H ..Be positive and learn from all the rejection .
call toh de koi.. 90 days notice period bolte hi bhag jate hai.. JD bhej denge bolte hai lekin kuch nahi ata phir mail.. kya kare
1 year .... and then got selected in a product company
Can you also please share your preparation plan, execution, applying experience and strategy which got you the first offer. This would help more others preparing/applying to good product companies. Personally I feel finding a good company/role is a blocker and can delay landing in your first good offer.
5 months.. Countless rejections.. same is happening fir the 2nd switch also.. 🤣
90 days np😆
Took me over a year with about 24 rejections every month. I've even thrown interviews because of the way the interviewer spoke or the type of questions asked.
Just keep applying don't give up.
It took 3 months and so many rejections that I didn't even keep track of number. Best way to go about in this time is just give 100% from your end and don't think about result.
Damnn, being a 3rd year guy seeing all this rejections make me feel scared but one thing is for sure we need to move on that's the only hope
for fresher first job offer from campus is imp.. start preparing for aptitude testes from rs agarwal and indiabix.com

5 months and 6 rejections
4 months n 3 rejections
2 years
Countless rejections , even if you answer all the questions in the interview correctly.
I was serving my notice period with less than a month remaining. Compensation is a factor too for rejections. If they find another candidate with same skill set with a lower expected CTC then they will reject you.
40 in summer internship placement and 25 in final placements. Landed a good offer in the end, keep up the hopes and hard work.
45 days.
1st interview was decent but still they denied me so i worked hard in next interview and got it.... remember always speak positive with confidence thats all you matter...
10 months of rejection
Finally got 100% hike
Keep going buddy. Learn from every interview experience. If you don't get selected, consider it a mock interview for your dream company :)
90 days notice period. 5 months of search. Around 4-5 rejections. Then 5 offers. More offers which I didn't accept. Settled for 150 % hike + bonus 😅. All in my technology. Java Spring Boot.
Got job in first interview itself.... After 10years.... None of my friends that I know are getting lesser pay than me.... Almost everyone are doing great working on good technologies and going abroad too..... So getting job easily will make your worth lesser at times
9 months and 100+ rejections before compromise.
I'm assuming that you are searching for a job. If yes then probably below tips may help you otherwise it can help someone else.
Tips:
- Write down the questions after each interview and prepare answers
- Keep aspiring companies for later but not too late. Remember there's a trade-off between time and practice
- Try searching for HR TA direct email addresses for startups and small firms. Try searching for referral for mid and large corporations. Note one TA may not like other TA from the department within same organisation, same goes for consultants be careful. Make sure you are mailing to right person
- Call the consultants or TA without hesitation. They keep their number at job posting for a reason. Leverage it!
- Prepare a 3 min, 5 min, 10 min summaries of yourself, use them smartly between interviews and keep your emotions aside they don't want to hire a emotional baggage!
- Use resume making websites there are plenty of those. Additionally, create a go to cover letter and paste it in your email signature, so everytime you hit compose you will have your cover letter automatically in mail body. This will save a lot of effort
- Keep updating your resume with latest projects. Interviewer ask questions from your resume. It's alway good to have projects in it otherwise they'll ask you anything. Trust me you will have higher success rate of clearing hr screening as well as selection. Also, as you mature in interview process you will realise how important verbiage is in your resume. There are list of words to be used on MIT website you can use em
- Draft all the mail in advance and sent these mails in one go. Understand a consultant starts early archive or delete bulk mails from last day, every day, first in the morning. A few good ones go through each emails. However, trick is to email them when they start working on position, similarly for HR TA. Try different time slot for first week, see response rate and accordingly pick up the right time
- Keep a track of all the applications. I know it's difficult but no one like to hire a fresher who's not aware of the role. Talk on requirements listed on role. Do take online classes for same
- Set a goal for yourself. When, I started job search it took me 3 months to achieve 70 jobs apply from 10 (including emails) per day
- Maintain your interview pipeline and make adjustments. Keep your self occupied in preparation and job application. Whatever time left, try listening to podcasts
- Principal of life, a candidate get hired only when position become critical for the business. If you are not applying to old open jobs then you should
- HRs are good in detection any sign of desperation. So, during interview keep yourself calm, speak to the point, drink water in between, think first and then reply. Try not create things on the fly and speak about thinks from your resume. It's ok to say no if you are not aware or don't know the answer but do let them know that you have a learning attitude and you can find the answers with minimum guidance
I'm sure this forum can help you in finding a job. Happy job search..
