Following. I’m tired of getting by on $55K/yr. I’ve been out of grad school for 10 yrs!

I’d say start casually looking and applying. You never know what opportunity you would miss if you don’t start looking now. Also tbh not to bring up world politics but we may have an economic shift in the next year or years based on current events that may disrupt the job market.

I am a sixth-year associate overseeing a second year. They are an exceptionally good associate. I am honestly shocked at the work product I receive and the way they go above and beyond. The issue I have is that they sometimes take awhile to turn things around. For example, I ask for a draft response to the client, and they take three-four days. I know they’re busy, but I would like to address this in a positive way. Any suggestions?

Additional Posts in Career Pivot

Graduated from Babson College (MA, US) in 2014. Became passionate about the tech industry during my SY. Came back home (I don’t live in the US) and worked for a family member for four years (non-tech). Left in 2018, started working on my first startup (TravelTech). Shelved in March 2020 due to Covid. Huge pivot - started working on my second startup (DeliveryTech). Failed, wrong market.

What’s my next move? I’m thinking about grad school + working in the US post graduation. Cheers!

I start a new job in 2 weeks (woohoo!) & I completely forgot to mention to my manager that I have three short pre planned vacations this fall (two long weekends and a week long). I was waiting on confirmations from other folks (all of these will be with friends/fam), which is why I forgot. I’m worried that if I share this with her now, she will already think poorly of me and that I’m trying to get away with abusing the benefits (unlimited PTO). Any advice? Am I thinking too deep into this?

I have over 12 years in B2B sales/sales management experience along with a graduate degree. I am wanting to shift gears and I am at a point where I can invest time in myself to learn through practical experience. The new industry I am wanting to pursue is real estate investment. I have read all the books but want some hands on experience on the property management side. How could I best leverage my skills for a role in this, and what should my expectations be for negotiation in compensation?

Have two questions really:

1. Any good recommendations on programming topics/languages/courses to take to transition into a fintech role?

Currently working in the government services practice of a regional accounting firm (focused in disaster recovery/CDBG) and am interested in moving into advisory at a Big 4 firm. I work within salesforce every day in a non-development capacity for context.

I'm considering pivoting to copywriting because that's the part of my role I'm best at -- a lot of the account management stuff is draining, but I can whip out social and marketing copy quickly & I enjoy it. Wondering if anyone has insight / leads on making the jump from accounts to the copy side when applying for jobs? 5 YOE, 3 in-agency with a mix of automotive and pharma + a side gig as a published author with muliple books (hoping that'll help on the creative / copy end?) Thank you!
