$65k and paid it off in 3 years

uplifting

About 80. And 4 years

like

$40k, plus $80k left over from undergrad. Will have everything paid off within 4 years of graduation (3 years of paying aggressively, took me a year to get my shit together)

uplifting

65k college debt paid it within a year.

like

Possibly lived at home and used most of his/her salary to pay down aggressively. This is how I paid off my loans in less than a year.

$125k, paid off in 18 months!

like

$90K. Paid in 1.5Y although being aggressive could have done in 1Y

like

Bruh, these are cringing numbers.

like

Just the amount of debt, M3. I’ve been in the hole all through my 20s, bounced back, and am very proud of it. Just cringing because it reminds me of how much debt I’ve been in. The thing is, my debt was stupid, going out, drinks, partying, girls, etc, while it was fun, at least your guys’ debt is smart and for higher education.

Had $80K when I graduated last May, paid off $20K aggressively. Will hold back and hoard cash because of concerns with lay offs and general economy.

Just graduated with $95k from T15

Had $175k, down to $104, 3.5 years to go on it

80k

~180k. Down to 155k after 9 months of working. Wanted to pay it off in 4 years but trying to save for a down payment on a house right now

Had 37k, paid it off in 2 years. Just went to the best school that gave me the biggest scholarship - now, with an MBA and a few years at BCG I can tell you that was not a smart decision. Worked out alright though. Also, prob could have paid down that debt slower since it wasn’t too big - missed out on some market gains the past couple years and now I’m sitting on cash terrified to put anything in right now (outside of retirement accounts, obviously)

I mean it worked out, but I didn’t know schools in the 15-20 range barely make it on the radar for MBB. It’s fine, because I got here, but now that I’m on the other side I realize that it’s rare to just have a phone screen and interview and offer without heavy networking, recruiting events, etc. And I’ll take the BCG network over an MBA network generally - more relevant common experiences. I don’t regret it - just wouldn’t recommend someone else do it necessarily. Saving 80k in student debt is nice, but probably it worth the variance in outcomes.

Graduated in May ‘17 with $40k (old company had decent tuition reimbursement program) Now down to half of that and expecting to be debt free by the end of 2020. So 3.5 years bc I didn’t rush to pay it (since they were fairly “ok” interest rates). Plus had some lingering undergrad debt as well.

€0, I put some of my savings into it and had help from bank of Mum and Dad

I am looking for some advice or opinions to apply for consulting jobs right now. I currently work at a mid-sized/regional firm, but plan move to a different city later this year. I have ~4 yr xp working on system implementations, IT policies/controls, and BPO, but my undergrad GPA wasn't the best (I did become a CPA and CISA though). Should I try to apply to big 3/big 4? Stay mid-sized? Get an MBA or Masters? Move and pray? Thanks in advanced for any comments!
