I sold most of my position over the last few days for just over 200k.

I still have some shares, but as much as I want to see it go up to some crazy number I don't trust WSB or the hedge funds enough to not take money and run.

Independence restrictions vary greatly depending on your role in the firm. And which firm you’re at. (Deloitte US vs Deloitte UK.)

Think of it as ... what an awesome flash sale on GME today was! (Full disclosure: I plan to buy tomorrow because I suspect the price will be suppressed PM too.)

Well I’ve held for 13 years so I think I’ll keep on holding.

likefunnyhelpful

That’s the spirit. You should buy more. Great price today! Very low!

I’m still up 2x and holding. You don’t lose until you sell.

Could have and should have mean nothing. Anyone could have been a billionaire if they won the recent Mega Million and Powerball jackpots

like

None - cost base is 70/share. Haven’t sold a single share yet. Buying more tomorrow if it dips below $200.

likefunny

I did not add today. I saw the big drop pre-market and figured there was some shenanigans going on ... again. Still keeping an eye on it for tomorrow. Have 20k ready to deploy.

I’m turning into a paranoid but all these nice numbers ending in .00 for GME make me wonder what’s happening behind the curtain.

Down $100 per share but holding! Not a loss til realized

If it helps - I heard a large volume $800 call options were sold today. Wonder what that means ;)

Lose? Only 📄🤲s lose. Mine are made of 💎.

If you got in early enough you didn’t lose anything, even now.

like

Holding! So haven’t lost a dime. Strongly considering adding more tomorrow

I made $600 (bought in at several price points and sold two shares at a small loss).

I know stonk bois don't usually like to hear from the crypto kids, but as someone who has been in btc since $20..... When the forums start being flooded with "I have no idea what I'm doing, is it too late to buy," you're at the top and it's time to gtfo. I'm not catching a falling knife, and wsb looks like the worst of the btc subs right now.

I hope I'm wrong for the sake of a lot of people, but I think the squeeze was last week. Best of luck to you 🚀

like

@P1 how about I send you $500+ gme vibes, you send me $50,000+ btc vibes, and we'll hope to meet in tendietown haha 💎💎

uplifting

So many naïve hopefuls who thought this short squeeze was actually driven up by WSB and retail investors.

Holding. Stranger things have happened. This week.

like

I sold today 🧻 ✋ 🤚. Bloomberg said short interest is down to 39%? Not sure if it’s true but kind of eliminates the bull case.

like

Yep, the SEC posted the FTD for Jan and the figures for GME are abnormally high, as in millions of shares not delivered, compared to usual figures of hundreds or a few thousand. Definitely something screwy.

like

I’m so glad to see so many of you fellow 💎👐
Still holding 150 shares

Hey, I just wanted to be a part of the movement and be on the right side of history. So I got in, knowing the downsides!! 🤜🤛

like

You haven’t “lost” anything if you haven’t sold. You hold the same number of shares. Just buy more, that’s the only smart move.

Nothing at all. Always double the bet each time you lose ;)

Should I max out my 401k if my employer doesn’t offer matching? Currently I just max out my Roth because my previous employer didn’t offer 401k at all, but changing jobs next week and not sure how to manage savings now that I don’t qualify for a Roth anymore. Can anyone also speak to a mega back door Roth and if that’s preferable to maxing out 401k/back door Roth? I don’t know much about that except that 401k contribution limit is much higher than IRA.

Pros and cons doing a HDHP with HSA vs. regular PPO? Cost wise, I’m spending $18/month on the PPO and $20 copays per visit (I only usually do my physical and maybe 1-2 specialist visits). With the HDHP, I’d pay $0/month, would have to pay for each appointment given after $3000 deductible, but my company contributes $900 to my HSA. It estimates I’d pay $90/yr with the HDHP as I’d use the $900 to cover the costs vs. $345 with the PPO. I always see HSA emphasized here so confused what route to go

Post-Military 🐠,
What did you do with your TSP account after leaving the military? I am toying with the back door Roth IRA route but also see value in leaving the money in the TSP. Reason being, low expense ratio and option to transfer 401Ks into TSP down the road. Additionally, I don’t mind having multiple accounts so simplicity is not a factor. Thanks for any insights.

After building your budget, how do you personally account for one time expenses that you didn’t plan for? For example, if you had a budget of $1,000, and spent $200 this month on contacts for 2021 (Bc you were shortsighted 😜 and didn’t plan the expense in advance), would you only allow yourself $800 for the remainder of the month? Or would you stick to your $1k and cover the $200 with $s earmarked for elsewhere (ie, savings)? Looking for best practices as I improve spending habits in 2021!
