I’m going in the fall so I don’t have actuals, but researched pretty heavy and asked a few folks. Chicago market. Rent -1500/mo Supplies - 5000 (including laptop, etc) Trips - 10000 (including additional pre start trip Living expenses - 1500/mo Moving - 2000

You can always go the bottom up approach: de potential spending with rent, transportation, tickets and hotels. Add an error margin and an estimation for your consumption (meals, phone, utilities)

Not sure how to estimate without knowing how many trips people go on, what kind of social events are common (knowing they’re different across schools), etc. Looking for ballparks based on people’s actual experiences!
