I’m afraid to add it up!
Several times more then I can claim on my tax return, sadly.
Too much!
This was the first year I went over $2000: $2893.23 to be exact.
I use Donor’s Choose and create wishlists at Staples and Target. On back to school night, I post a QR code that parents can scan, if they would like to help out. I usually end up with plenty of tissues, hand sanitizer and paper this way. Donors Choose is great for books, field trips and lab supplies and in spite of all this, I still spend close to $1000 a year personally, on food, water, markers, pencils, erasers, whiteboard markers and incentives. I teach Secondary school English. It’s tough out there, especially for new teachers. Best advice: Be kind to one another and share resources. Someone may have easy access to a resource you don’t have and vice versa 😉
I’m so sorry to hear that. Our district doesn’t supply tissues either. We have an excellent PTA who tries to help as much as they can. I know it’s rough out there. 😐
$1000
If you count snacks for hungry kids... $5000? Maybe more?
Too much
More than 100.00 but less than 1300.00, stopped counting after awhile
Probably around $500
Around $1,500.
I also spend way too much. But you have to create that warm and inviting classroom.
I’ve never added it up and I think I would be nervous to! If I had to estimate I would say on average anywhere between 1500-2500 dollars.
?????? Lots!!!
Around $500. I try to go to yard sales too!
It seems more and more each year and can’t seem to claim much on taxes
I spent over $500 on TPT. I spend $20 a month for HPInsta Ink , unknown for laminating sheets, plus who knows how much on the manipulatives to go with the things I bought on TPT. This coming school year should be better. 🤪
I always look for free stuff or go to the Dollar Tree to get what I need. Plus, donations work too.
What you can do, if possible, is have your students make food, coffee, etc. to sell to earn money for the classroom.
2000-4000 a year
I have an art budget of 1800.00. I rarely use personal money
