Imagining a life as selfish as EY2 makes me want to have kids.

like

It can be as expensive as you want it to be. Keep in mind that people with a household income making $50k a year are able to raise children...

^ wrong post but it still stands

like

@PwC2 It's not selfish, it's a different lifestyle choice. Hope you don't teach your kids to be uptight like you. Everyone doesn't need to live the same lives.

like

Oh yea I'm selfish since I have goals of my own which do not include spending all of money and time on raising the world population and bringing humans into this crazy a$$ world. Let's have this convo when you're knee deep in poop and diapers. Ciao.

Don't have kids. Your money and time are too precious than caving into the social norm of having kids! Imagine a life where your money is yours and your time is only yours!

Glory to God. After a long battle of advocating for my own career advancement while being under a team who intentionally did not support my advancement/career growth, I finally***** got promoted. With a 10% raise. It was a battle but I stayed faithful to Gods word and sought the kingdom first. Again. ALL. Glory. To. Hi! I’m a solution analyst, hired on a year ago as a campus hire. What is the typical raise associated with promotion to solution specialist? Is there a merit-based raise as well as a separate promotion raise? Just want an idea of what to expect. I’m also curious regarding the performance splits—how much more of a raise can a top performer expect than an average performer? Thanks!

After getting promoted in Feb 2020 (lol fml) I designed and implemented a significant piece of data infrastructure that is beyond what’s expected of someone at my level. In 2021, I was not recognized for this accomplishment and a guy who knows nothing about the technology was promoted over me. It’s been a year since his promotion & the wheels are starting to come off: others are becoming increasingly aware of his ineptitude. What’s the best way to subtly pour gasoline on this fire?

I’m interviewing at outside companies during my performance review cycle. All signs point to a positive performance review so far and my manager has even brought up the very likely possibility of a promotion within the next six weeks. But I’m interviewing elsewhere as I’d like to open myself up to different opportunities due to the work culture and compensation in my current role. Will accepting a promotion and then potentially leaving weeks after hurt my resume and burn bridges? Any advice?

Last week I tested out working in the office again for the first time since last March. I thought I would love it again. I ended up hating every second of it- wasting time on commute, paying for parking, no where to eat, office was lonely, water cooler talk wasted my productivity. It was exhausting to be “on” in person the entire time. I couldn’t bring myself to go back this week. I didn’t realize wfh allows me to enjoy my job and gives me the time to balance life and friends outside of my job.
