We get funding for our classes from several different sources or categories, and I was fortunate to receive about $2000 last year. In a lab dependent course this still disappears really quickly.
about $2000, and teachers can also get reimbursed if the buy anything out of pocket for their classrooms.
Wow! That is amazing. A decent amount to sustain needs.

Teachers actually get $$ for school supplies!?!?
ZERO dollars. My school doesn’t have a PTO, so nothing there either. Anything we’d like for our classroom comes from our personal pocket, donors choose or Amazon wishlists (the later two very rare options)
I hope you have generous parents. That is a huge burden.
I try to stay under $100 per year since our PTO reimburses all teachers that amount. Honestly, I don’t buy that much anymore unless it’s for the treasure box. Less is more. Keepin’ it simple.
🤣🤣🤣 35 years teaching in 3 school systems, $0 for my classroom.
Well this will be revealing. $1500 per year with the yearly possibility of big ticket items that were over $600 each per my discretion with admin approval. Additionally 4 times during my career I was given instructions to spend 10K (twice), 15K, and 200K. My district didn't allow the physics labs to become outdated.
Wow! That's great.
Teachers can write off $250 per year on our tax returns, if spending our own money.
Really?! Our tax accountant still has $250 written on the form…I’ll have to ask about this. 😊 Thank you!
On occasion we would get two hundred dollars, but that was not every year. On the off years we got nothing.

$500, but I typically spend close to 1500 for the entire year.
None from the school. We can go to cabinets and take some thing.

Garage sales, dollar store, scavenge a room if a teacher leaves… in other words, $0.
We get $50 per classroom per year. We can also ask PTO for funds if we fill out the paperwork, attend the meeting and are funded.
Not enough🥹
It’s random. Typically $200 (4 years out of 15). If there is extra money in the budget, an email goes out to ask what we need (Usually in March). Else we reach out to companies such as Donors Choose to get supplies that are above and beyond a few hundred dollars.
$50. It use to be more and the PTA use to give each team money, but those days are gone. I have 115 students per year. Buying paper and pencils blows my entire budget by September 1st.
Nothing. But last year the PTA gave me $45. (I spend over $3000. I teach special ed and they need supplies!)
We don't get money per se, unless you have department funds that you can use on some supplies. But that is usually for staplers and other supplies. If you wanna decorate or make your room fun that we have to pay for it. I guess you could write it off on your taxes if it's that big a deal. But, I try to limit what I spend, for sure, especially at my old school where the kids were nightmares and would jack up my room. They ultimately got bare minimum stuff in there. Now I am happy in my new school and I have my toys/nicknacks back up, lights, and festive stuff.
