It’s time for me to move on from my back office/CBS job at EY. I’ve been able to get through to recruiter and hiring manager screening round with FAANG employers and some tech companies but never beyond that. How can I differentiate myself when I’m probably also up against our client facing colleagues in consulting. I have about 12 years experience (7 at EY doing the same thing).
McKittensey & Company, anyone?

Congratulations!!
Check your firms policy. I told my colleagues 16 weeks prior to due date, and HR at 6 weeks which is more than enough time. Our firm’s policy asks to be notified at least four weeks prior to due date. I’ve found everyone generally happy for my wife and I. They also understand babies don’t always come on time either! Good luck!

Congratulations and all the best for a healthy baby and safe delivery.
Our policy is the same, regardless of level. Tell your project, only if your baby’s due date will impact your project. I.e. If your project is ending in 2 months, but your baby is due in 4 months, there’s no point in telling them.
Unless your company policy gives a timeline, I’d wait until the 8 wks prior to your leave, to tell HR. Same thing, if your project will be impacted.
Deloitte requires leave request forms to be approved by your business leadership and submitted by no later than 30 days before your leave begins (at least for Core consulting). I completed mine about 2 months out on the off chance baby came early.
