How much salary or bonus can you negotiate if going to another big 4 as experienced? Or is the pay pretty much set?

Well it depends, like everything. The new firm will look at the range for your position and how badly it wants you. What is your current role, service line, location and comp?

Don’t expect much as an associate. More flexibility starts kicking in at the experienced Sr level. I just got a 25% bump to switch to another firm as an S3. Making as much as the managers are. Maybe more.

Was your decision to leave strictly comp based? And how did it workout for you? Outside of the pay increase was it worth it?

sanity checking an offer from Booz Allen - I have a quant PhD + 5 relevant YOE, secret clearance in hand, and the exact skill set they are hiring for on the team (title is Sr data scientist, associate lvl, SIG). I told the recruiter that I was expecting $170k+, and their offer came in at $150k. My market rsch of peers in the industry indicates $180+ wouldn’t be unreasonable. They said is $155k is best and final, but this is slightly less than current comp at an FFRDC. Just how BAH rolls?

Was looking into obtaining my psyD or a PhD (to do research) I can’t lie, I’ve lived at 40k and 100k+ and I can’t say there’s much in this life that will make me go back to low pay work. This is why I am thinking of psyD. Also, considering psychiatric RN or lmft.
