~$225k TC
D1 has it right again.
Other industries (not finance, tech) expect less generally- 125 base and 160ish tc. There are exceptions: e.g. oil and gas that pay more. Also note many of these positions are in MCOL areas which helps with some of the difference.

~180k TC
Too less
Ive been recruiting for tech in the same situation as you. Tech seems to be 225-250 tc. Regular industry s&o roles are more along the lines of 180-200. Tech companies I’ve talked to have been FAANG, unicorns, and mid sized SaaS.
Have also been told for tech to expect to take a hit on cash comp with TC increasing. YMMV.
Have similar exp + background to you and am job hunting. Seeing 180k-220k so far from bank strategy roles.
TC. These are for non-VP roles
FAANG business ops / sales ops: ~$175k base,~$200k stock (4 yrs), 15-20% bonus = $250k TC.
This is only for FAANG or late stage startups as well?
It depends. That'll be 350.
Mentor
Well, it depends on what you choose to do. There are exits that will pay more than what you make, and exits that pay less. Career services maintains an extensive database so you can compare to others at your tenure.
Looking for strategy and business ops roles in tech.
Any ballpark recommendations would be helpful as I speak to recruiters
How much TC should I aim for? Base+stock?
Did some compensation work for late stage startups in a prior role. Obviously there’s wild variance. But to put it in perspective, a strong enterprise account executive will regularly clear 150-200k. A director of sales can expect >$200k, and I’ve seen mid-performing VPs north of $400k.
Now, sales comp is tricky, but it tends to be somewhat indicative of other business functions which are less standardized roles.
But I think the point is that you should not expect to make any less than you do at BCG.
This is very helpful. Can I DM you BCG3? Want to ask a couple of followup questions.
