Just backed out of a signed offer and I feel like shit. The new company was very delayed in issuing an offer letter (3 weeks from verbal) and approaching a month from background check. I missed kick off events and offered to visit happy hours, but they denied that request until after the start date (which had to be pushed back).

I feel I’m justified in reneging but the group lead did everything they could to recruit and move things along, so I feel bad. Here to vent.

The job itself doesn't have much to do with veterinary medicine, but they do require you to have experience in veterinary medicine.
