Hi, I’m 30yrs old and by next week I will be 31yrs old. Got married 2 yrs ago and we have been trying for kids from past 7 months but no luck, we try to have sex almost all 7 days of fertile window. I get my periods regularly, I don’t have thyroid nor PCOD. My Gyn did all test, and everything looks fine, my ovaries, Fallopian tubes , harmonies. Do I need to see fertility doctor ,if so, how is the best fertility doctor near Boston area. Need inputs for next steps before it’s too late 😒
Depends, I’d call the pharmacy to make sure you don’t need any pre authorization. But once that is all figured out they can do next day delivery. I once ordered my wife’s meds at 6pm and had it by noon the next day, no additional charge for the expedited shipping.
I ordered them two weeks before I needed to start the IVF stimulation phase. I skipped the IUI process altogether and went straight to IVF, so the only true item that kept me from ordering the meds was the thumbs up from insurance on both the prior authorizations for IVF treatment and the meds, (meds were approved in 1 day, treatment approval took 3 weeks). I was also put back on birth control in preparation for IVF, so I knew getting pregnant naturally was not happening that month.
For additional reference, I ordered mine from Optum Rx Specialty Pharmacy and they were overnighted cross-country
Given that IVF meds typically begin Day 2 evening of your cycle (confirm with your provider!) you should be able to hold off until your period for a next day delivery if cost is a consideration.
Was in the same situation before transitioning to IVF…
I would confirm what your pharmacy’s latest time to order meds would be for delivery (i.e. by certain timeframe) and return policy, if any. Got my period (2nd failed IUI) on a Thursday morning/day before the scheduled IUI pregnancy test and was scrambling to order all medications to receive the following Friday morning. Freedom pharmacy told me that in the event you need something urgently same day they would identify supply in your local area for pickup options.
Although it was fairly stressful, meds arrived early the next day well in advance of the Day 2 evening administration window. There isn’t anything I would’ve changed in hindsight since our pharmacy does not accept any returns, most of the meds only had a 30-day shelf life, and we hadn’t yet met our deductible at that point so we were paying nearly full insurance pricing plus another medication not covered under insurance at all. If cost was NOT a consideration (co-pays only or after meeting OOP max) I likely would’ve been fine having the stock delivered earlier for my peace of mind.
As much time as possible - the process is painful!
