What engineering fields have the most opportunity for someone who wants to travel as part of their job?

Is anyone staying in hotels at all right now for personal travel? Trying to decide if I want to do short weekend trips with my wife but still need to stay overnight somewhere. Can’t imagine not going anywhere for 6+ months.

But there's one thing that's been bothering me: it's hard to get feedback on my work when I'm not in the office. It would be great if there was some kind of system that let me know how my performance was being evaluated while I'm working on projects from home.

Currently a newly promoted audit senior. Been hearing that Deloitte typically only wants to hire people with prior FDD experience in that group. Can people within Deloitte confirm this is becoming the case? Has the window to jump straight from audit narrowed since the past few months, and is there a way to sell myself so I could at least get to the interview phase?

Anyone know any smaller / regional firms that are moving their FDD practices to 100% remote? I have no problem traveling for client/target meetings obviously, but hate the idea of being tied to a city and having to ask permission to move. I’ve seen a few remote job postings, and wondering if this is a trend.

I will be starting in Big 4 FDD as a campus hire. Is the promotional path similar to audit (A1 -> A2 -> S1…) after each year or so?

Is there any good reason to stay at a B4 firm over trying to jump to something like an A&M which blows the comp out of the water?

For people who chose to pursue valuation over FDD, what was your rationale behind this? Are the exit opportunities significantly better, and if so, in what way? Obviously this is very subjective but curious of other peoples opinions.

I think I am underpaid at 90k B4 FDD as an S1 in HCOL. I had 2 years of audit experience prior and switched externally. Have been at new firm for about half a year. How can I ask for a raise?
