Hola a todos!
What do you think of Coach purses?
In general, job fit over everything else. Really hard to motivate yourself each morning with your benefits package.
That said, see if you can negotiate higher pay/ vacation using the second offer.
I would pick job 1. Ultimately liking the role will make you far happier than the benefits package will. You will just lose on some cash over time which isn’t as big of a deal.
Definitely negotiate higher base salary with job 1 and cite the benefits gap as the reason. I have found most companies won’t negotiate on their benefits because they are standard. Not sure about others experience with benefits
12 week paternity is a big gap though. How would you quantify that as someone that might expect a child within the next ~2 years?
Maybe Job 1 has a higher tier insurance plan that you can pay for + quantify cost for negotiation
Nope, Job 1 doesn’t have higher tier insurance. I would have been fine to pay extra for better coverage
It depends on your need and what stage of life you are in. I've turned down jobs because maternity leave was non existant and I'm actively trying to start a family now. So to me and this point in my life, that benefit was more important to me than the job fit and salary.
So I vote 2
Number 2
Pick number 2, my lord
Will never leave BCG because of the benefits/specifically healthcare, I’m the only W-2 employee in my household w/ kids
Choose the role you prefer with respect to your actual work tasks. Better benefits are meaningless if you don’t enjoy what you do.
Someone sold you Job 1 really well, was that us?
