What would be a good approach of moving from public accounting (big 4) to the client (industry)? When one applies, I assume people at your firm would immediately get to know about it?
I knew i was underpaid, but didn’t realize just how much until my client offered a 60% pay bump...
What is the stigma with doing staff aug work? Is it bad for firm reputation? I see a lot of staff aug work that are both critical to the client and financially lucrative for the firm.
Scam artists that appear somewhat legit, but then cracks start to appear in their narratives. In my case, I have a potential client purportedly from Japan who says he said he wanted me to negotiate a P and A to sell industrial storage storage tanks to a business in North America. Now, it’s coming that that business is purportedly an investment firm, with 12 other businesses in a joint venture to purchase the tanks, that wants to send me checks to go into my IOLTA account. Sim. stories?
What does your firm do for evening meals if you work late? Most of our offices bring in a meal couple of nights a week but will no reimburse if in town and working late at a client.

I've recently been struggling to figure out what job is next and what I want to do with my career. I have 4.5 yoe, 3.5 years at PwC within tax/tax technology and 1 year within IT transformation, Agile/Change and Implementation work. I don't have many hard skills except for things like excel, PowerPoint, alteryx/tableau/powerbi, and struggling to find something that I want to do. I feel kind of stuck on current project and feel like I'm underpaid. Any advice or guidance on how to figure it out?
6 months in at a new firm. 4th year attorney. Completely new practice area from what I did previously. The partner often sends the random potential client call ins my way. Many times, they have questions related to things I’ve never done and he only provides guidance if I can pull him away from something else to ask. I’m super low on hours but feel that it would be ethically wrong to take on a case involving an issue Im totally unfamiliar with and not confident handling. Wrong approach?
gonna be staffed in a long term project in NC. what's fun there? open for all tips and info, thanks!
When you present the first round of social concepts to client (let’s say about 10 concepts total, trying to fill out their content calendar), do you stick with write-ups or show one execution per idea?

Which project management tools would you recommend to keep track of multiple different work streams and action items across 8-10 ongoing projects? I don’t want to use this collaboratively with other stakeholders but mainly for me to track as the PM. Are there any tools except “Planner” that can be used with MS Teams? Thank you @

Where do y’all see the future of M7 going? In the next 20-30 years. Will there still be an M7 or will MBAs be obsolete as more and more elite companies do direct promotion? Will HSW still exist or will the value prop of a brand name be diminished a ton with the continuous rise of tech/AI, etc?

People are saying it’s rare to get covid if you’re vaccinated (most recently 1 in 1000 breakthrough cases for MA) but isn’t that directly attributable to far less testing done now? I can understand it’s rare to be at risk for hospitalization, but do we really know how many people are asymptomatic and still spreading?

The crisis in Afghanistan’s impact to women’s rights is making me sick to my stomach. I am in tears thinking about these women. I feel so called to do things larger than donate but I don’t know what or how. Refugee volunteer work? Large donation campaign? I can’t focus at work knowing the reality these women are facing. What do we do

So far this is what I wrote An opportunity has presented itself and I'm interested in embarking on a journey to study Software Development within the Company. Being given this opportunity to grow at work gives me confidence that I can achieve beyond my job description as a Generic Technician.
Has anyone filed taxes after a 401k/IRA withdrawal under the CARES act? Seems like Turbo tax does not accommodate the change yet, so I'm wondering how ppl have done it (if they have so far)?
