For incoming/graduating/graduated MBAs- how did u finance your MBA between savings, loans, scholarships (%s)? If you took loans, how much did u take? Would you suggest using 401k/IRA money if needed?
has anyone figured out how to mimic a mega-backdoor Roth IRA without after-tax contributions in your 401k?
I need to file a work visa petition in a Schengen state. The visa is for a year and I need insurance for it. Does the Axa Schengen multi trip works for me? Because coverage says 90 days consecutive. Or should I buy 2 180 consecutive ones?
Starting my new job as a provider operation consultant for the healthcare industry in two weeks. Anything I should brush up on or learn before going in? Excel,PPT? Thank you.
I'm returning to work from maternity leave tmrw. Kids' bags are packed. My lunch, work bag & pump bag is packed. Coffee pot is programmed. Alarm is set. I still can't sleep! What's your AM/PM routine?
I’m making about $100k a year currently in a MCOL city. I’m single with no kids, no debt, rent is $1k/mo and I’m maxing my 401k and IRA. Would I be a fool buying a $65-70k car? I’m a car guy so I already have a pretty cool car with only 40k on the clock, but have been considering upgrading. Thoughts?
I spent the last 3 months "growing up" & now I'm ready to go. 1st thing is for me to get my own place. I'd like to buy instead of rent because I don't want to pay someone else's mortgage. I'm thinking of selling my car & cash out some of my 401k to buy a house. My thought is to put down 3.5% for a FHA loan then make a big payment towards the principal to reduce long-term interest. Anything wrong with this thinking or anything else I should consider?
Hows d phone reimbursement work? Do I sign up for a plan with Deloitte discount? Or its purely reimbursement? How much is the monthly plan and how much for the phone unit allowed per month as well? Thanks
Desperation in the UK’s healthcare system.
Pregnant, just got a new job offer. I need to drop the pregnancy bomb now (I’m 24 weeks along). Really looking for any advice on how to say this in negotiations. I really want to see if I can negotiate our maternity leave. Also want to break the news in a way where they don’t feel deceived.
So.. EY’s health insurance through BCBS only covers Pap smears every 3 years now… HOW is this okay. I just paid $990 out of pocket because the rules changed this year. I’m pissed
I recently switched employers. I used to have Kaiser Permanente health insurance & loved my doctors. Have been with them for almost 3 years. My new insurance isn’t so great, but because of employer contribution, it’s affordable to go that route. Has anyone paid for health insurance out of pocket? Thinking of just paying for it to keep KP, but it’s a difference of ~$200. Or just find new doctors?
I’m realizing I have a lot of fear—mostly related to health stuff and death. Feel like people are getting sick left right and center (not talking about covid). I’ve never had anyone close to me become very sick or die—don’t know what I would do if this happened. I’m also overly concerned about my health and seem to be at the doctor every month to get something checked. Can anyone relate or provide suggestions on how to overcome something like this?
Does anyone here work at Crowe? What is the salary range for a healthcare senior consultant? YOE - 3 + MBA. Location: remote. Travel: 25- 40%. Also interested in other opinions of Senior consultant salaries at other firms. TY!
Just switched jobs. Old 401k has more than $5k and new 401k is with a different provider. Is there any reason whatsoever to move the old 401k cash anywhere, either to the new 401k or to an IRA? Given that it's more than $5k, it can stay there indefinitely, right? I'm fine with the investment options with my old 401k. And I can transfer it over to a new IRA or new 401k anytime, even years in the future, right? Given that no distribution will come to force the 60 day rule?
Have anyone done contracting negotiations before? I've interviewed for co A & B and co A extended an offer today. The offer does not meet my current salary. Co B's interview structure is 3 rounds and I've finished my 2nd round today. The recruiter mentioned that since I am a contractor my current salary is incomparable as they will provide benefits, etc. Is this true? I have 2 yrs of contracting HR exp from fortunate 500 co’s & OMW to get my SHRM-CP. Appreciate your advice in advance.
Guys - Any good insurance suggestion for parents that covers both Canada and US and good number of in-network doctors. Father might need to get checked up here as he got sick last time he was here
ACN 🐠. What is the expectation at a M role in US/UKI and can someone tell the difference from a delivery center like India? Might be transferring and would like to understand the added responsibilities from day to day perspective. Getting imposter syndrome now.
Is it better to include property tax/insurance in your monthly mortgage payment or better to pay those separate? Looking to buy in NYC if that makes a difference. Thanks!!
I’d love to discuss best practices for leave management. Anyone have any tips on which systems to leverage (HRIS, etc.) and approval workflow that they’d like to share? 🙂
Hello everyone, I currently have one semester left before I graduate with my masters in cybersecurity. I have one internship experience with NJ homeland security and I am currently looking for full time roles in the cyber consultant world. I can use some advice or guidance!

Is studying for (and hopefully passing) the CFA a good alternative to an MBA for career advancement? Background: Currently in M&A advisory. Not looking to move into research or portfolio management, just seeking to add an "advanced degree". I would love to go back to school, but cost and my location - not near any major schools - have kept me from applying. I have considered Kellogg's eMBA in Miami. #cfa #mba
Thoughts on doing corporate strategy (big name company) early in career then switching into strategy consulting vs staying in MC then MBA and then switching?
I know interview test helps the hiring manger get an idea of how and where candidates would fit in. But this agency I applied, asked for 3 typography layout (business card), 3 KVs. Isn't it too much?
If your employer is filing PERM, should you still participate in DV lottery? What potential issues should you look out for in the event you get lucky?
Hello guys I'm from assurance service line. Any news on when they'll make it mandatory for us to get back to office? Any info from confirmed sources ?
Ill say it again, we should start considerin splitting the Union. There is a minority of the US who wants a mad man in charge. There is very little reason for the majority to abide by this.
As I prepared to file my notice, the partner of the firm called me and asked me to stay. They’re willing to promote me mid year in December and increase salary next year in August. The current offer I have gives 60% pay increase and Partner still can’t match that offer after promotion. Firm leadership says here I have potential to be a partner in 8 years and talk about all the leadership support I have rn which is fair. Is this one of their tactics to make me stay or should I just leave…
Got in a car accident and havent been sure how to deal with getting care. I use the VA and they paid for my ER visit, some medication, and a primary visit. I need to see a chiropractor but I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to do since that's the only insurance I use and they take months to get any appointments in presently. It was the other drivers fault but I have to come out of pocket until care is completed then haggle w/ em. Do I wait on the VA? Just pay cash to someone local? Recs?
Honeymoon destinations for November? Was planning on the Ritz in the Maldives on points but the remote prospect of testing positive while in the Maldives and having to pay ~$2000 per night for a 14 day mandatory quarantine is daunting.
I recently started my consulting career after obtaining substantial substantial professional experience and specialized expertise. I came in at a manager level and I am in my mid-forties. Grinding for another 1-3 years to become a senior manager and another 3-5 years after that to become a partner is not a plausible timeline for me. Welcome thoughts on how I can accelerate my path to the top within consulting or back on the industry side.
What % increase in total comp would you require to switch from one Big 4 to another for a similar role?
In-house fish need your advice: Was hired ~ 10 months ago to lead a 4 year web project. After months of planning and politics, project was canceled due to funding and scope. (Cont.)
