What is the path to a GC for a senior associate on a TN? I’ve been with my firm since college (2 years) - firm policy is that they initiate the process after a two year tenure (and provided you are senior associate rank, at minimum). Will I be able to pass the PERM evaluation? If not, would things get easier with a subsequent promotion? Or would it be best to lateral to a new firm and start the process there? Sorry, super green when it comes to this
Why did Deloitte’s federal practice have layoffs? Given that the clients are large government entities. I can understand it happening in commercial but federal makes no sense
If the big4 has an up or out model, do a lot of senior managers get laid off? Not everyone can be a partner/principle. How long can someone be a partner/principle for?

Declined a job offer with 18% raise a few weeks ago because I wasn’t ready to move companies. Starting to regret it but took a risk hoping I’ll love my next project. How will I know if I made the right decision?
I’d love some help thinking through this. I’m currently renting for $1600 base ($1800 total) and live in the least desirable part of town, and expect it to raise to about $2k/month. I was planning to buy my first property in the city and Airbnb part of it, but it will take me about a year to save up the cash (~$500k starting). Eventual goal is to move more rural but trying to build to FI. I found a property in my ideal dream location for $280k but it needs work, and can’t Airbnb it. Continued
After talks with my regional marketing team (RMT), each of us feels that we deserve a raise and have been underpaid since we began. We are the most productive RMT, we drive global scaling with our work as examples, and train up our counterpart teams across the globe. All of this with half the team members of the other teams and within two years of our existence. Does anyone have guidance or advice on how to raise this type of issue, and how to seek a raise both individually and as a team?

I’m thankful for this app as I was able to land a job and is now enjoying my new role in technology consulting in Oracle. I had background in consulting because of Accenture and Big4 companies I joined in the past but because of pandemic, I had to move to high paying jobs and now earning 68% more. I was due for a promotion but then covid hit, and during the peak of layoffs/furloughs, I was given the run-around that we have agency wide promotion freezes, etc. Over the past month, a handful of people have been promoted. I know everyone's situation is different but I can't help feeling snubbed. First time I interviewed at my current firm I didn't make it past my second round due to a bad review from an interviewer. Applied again a year later and got hired. In between that year, the interviewer who wrote me a bad review got fired due to poor performance. Moral of the story, it sucks that one person can mess up your job search so badly but don't give up! Often times it's not you, it's them!

My principal approached me in the car pick up line on Friday to inform me that I’ve taken to many days off & school has just started. I took 1day off when my daughter tested positive for Covid, I had an doctor’s appt that had been scheduled 6 months ago to see the hematologist. Being that I’m anemic, current labs showed I need to have 2 iron infusions. I put in for 2 more days off to have that done. He told me in the future to wait until a work day! We done have any until December!!
